You don't have to aggro all 30 of them you know. My mage goes through it just fine without camo. Just gotta watch where you run through. I get hit sure. But not 30x.

I also have this problem using 5 idols just to reach a boss with my warrior and rogue. And honestly having percent based idols still will not help that much. 50 percent of my rogues 4k hp is 2k that is 2 blasts from bolgs, where bolgs use there best skill immediately whenever u pass them... There will need to be more then another idol tweak to stop this problem if your doing only percentage based. And wulver u said ancient idols would be more suited for melee classes. Where in plat shop can I buy them? Oh yea I cant... As an active player with little funds I've gone through all of mine already and am digging myself into a hole just trying to get to a boss.. might I suggest health idols that restore full hp and 50 percent energy, then also idols for casters that give 50 percent hp and full energy. Again dying with 4k hp then using idol to get 2k hp will not help this idol problem. Mobs need to be revamped if this is your desired path.
There's this thing called vit. If you have problems with percentage based, just add more vit or get more HP gear, it's that simple

Theres this thing called rival clan competition. You cant afford to have a high hp and lower damage build if you want to win lock. So everyone makes a very high dmg build with very low hp, and as a result they cant survive going to places.

But im not against % based idols.
And the rival competition would have to either have a better prepared team or higher vit to otherwise they'd fail and if it's the first than they deserve lock anyways. Having 2-3k hp from idol should be enough to survive for traveling or boss fights because that eliminates the chances of you getting 1 hit by bosses/mobs. If you must taking some time to regen or take a pot to get a little extra boost then do that. Having a balance between vit and strength/dex is necessary, shouldn't be able to function properly with full Str builds unless you have a ton of hp/vit gear to go with it. I agree there are other issues that should be addressed so the percentage idols work better, like increasing str plateau to increase player dps and buffing casters as well, but overall percentage idols are the perfect solution for idols as a whole. Btw this was trying to address regnadious' points too.

Personally as soon as I caught wind of the change i saved for months buying 30 thousand ancient idols. We had over four months notice.

More than anything this game needs stability. If you need to add more skills and content do so. But ffs do not nerf items. Personally one of the reasons I'm inactive is i spent months leveling and scrounging gear and sigils to be able to solo all dl 6* bosses. Just after I got my first sreng 6* kill solo the nerfs came with the new engine, idols lag and all, and i can barely solo the 140 weapon boss which used to be cake. Besides other stuff it's just too sad to grind and grind only to be put back months of work - after all progress is one of the main reasons why we play mmos.

More than anything this game needs stability. If you need to add more skills and content do so. But ffs do not nerf items. Personally one of the reasons I'm inactive is i spent months leveling and scrounging gear and sigils to be able to solo all dl 6* bosses. Just after I got my first sreng 6* kill solo the nerfs came with the new engine, idols lag and all, and i can barely solo the 140 weapon boss which used to be cake. Wow u soloed a sreng 6, that's a pretty impressive feat considerin the rage most prolly hit in and the adds would of spawned more than once.. What technique did u use? I'm guessin it was on ur ranger, I so gotta get mine to a high lvl

Exactly. Some people who vouch for idol nerf dont have competition, and they're most likely in favor to prevent future competition. Idols dont work with current mechanics and competition with it.

To be clear Criminal, assuming you're somewhat referring to me since I was in quote promoting percent based idols, I DID NOT support original idol nerf because they clearly don't work and anyone who says they does most likely has not used them extensively at various levels or without other plat items. I however DO believe percent based idols are the best because there should be some sort of penalty to dying other than the death penalty which only happens with consecutive deaths and doesn't happen much with old idols. Percent based also allow idols to essentially be balanced between ALL levels because it's based off of your own stats. Currently on our world we have minor competition and my opinion on idols is not related or efected by that competition anyway. I also already responded to the original response about competition, it's a 2 way street so both sides would need more vit in builds or simply a better group.
However I am aware others probably are in favor of idol nerf and don't want percentage based or even a very high percentage base because it would effect their competition. Imo I believe 40% rate would be best but like Wulver mentioned they are going to have to test it a lot and see what works. 40% could be perfect, it could be waaaay too much or it could be not nearly enough, it's just a good starting point imo
