Re: New to Celtic Heroes and Playing a Rogue

During the beginning i suggest keeping quick strike at 1. The reason being is that you want to be able to have enough energy for an entire fight so when you lvl to begin with, dex and focus will be vital. As you go on though it doesn't serve as practical. I have 5 focus at lvl 88 and i still have like 300 energy and all important skills maxed, my energy rarely drops down during a fight and only does when i buff before (Poison weapon, hide and using sneak). Also if you can find a king or lord dagger it can be extremely useful for levelling and getting coins. You can basically one hit all of the under 50's in Shalemont. Money wise, just hang out in Shale and ask some friends to do boss fights there. You can get some decent drops which you can sell if another group doesn't get them first. Otherwise maybe selling fettles or clearing out Crookback is a good option to build up your coins.
couple of things to add there death ;)

there is a down side to using lordking stuff, even if it is rouge, and that is that its speed is like 5/6000, making you attack very slowly. also the only possible reason you would have 5 focus and 300 energy is because you have full zodiac, some meteoric dagger or even lordking, and probably a golden bodkin of some kind.

please correct me if i am wrong but every single one of those gives you an energy bonus?

I plan to keep using the 6 skills i use now until i decide otherwise based on questioning, observation, etc. - poison weapon, fast reflexes, meditate, a combination of rend and quick strike, plus the 'traditional' bandage wounds. i have around 188 energy with 60 focus, and use quick strike at least three times in one fight and rend once - it depends on level.

Any tips?

Tada gan iarracht.

Hello all,

I know there are several topics with the debate regarding strength vs. dexterity. I'm sure there is truth in both arguements when it comes down to boss content and number crunching, but I am far from doing any of that. I downloaded the game last night and read everything I could on these forums to figure out what class I would like to play and how to allocate its stats. I'm hoping someone would kindly let me know what I should be focusing on statwise for a solo build for now (I would love to group but I know no one who plays this game). I'm not looking for any sort of "easy mode" that doesnt exist, rather a build that will be useful for questing and killing regular mobs. Any help would be greatly appreciated
If you were new you wouldnt state your question so knowledgeable as you did.

Also, your either smart or a lier for visiting the forums before you started playing the game.

Can't imagine losing kills to a ranger in 2019.

To be honest i'm not the best rogue, I have recently starting building up my rogue, It is lvl 51 and here are the stats that i think helps kill normal enemies .
I have a golden bodkin of spirits so my focus is 0.
my strength is around 80 and 120 ish vitality, you need a good hp pool to survive acouple of mobs instead of killing one and healing. You really need to try and get a rejuvination amulet or something. I have 60 dexterity but im guessing you wont have a rejuvination amulet so you might want to lower your strength and dexterity to have some in focus.
so , get up heaps of vitality.
Try to get
40 strength
50 dexteruty
40 Focus
70 Vitality

After you have achieved this start to test your own favourite type of stats.
Good luck! :P Sorry bout my post it's a bit messy :)
i think the opposite. i am level 63 and my stats are

205
75
15 (i have herroic rejuv ammy and have been to lazy to lower it)
40

this works really well for me because with sneaky atk i hit 750 and norm atk i hit 300-400. i can kill most mobs my level with 2 hits and 1 with sneaky atk.

When you first start you wont need anything special to get to lv 15 or so, just do every quest possible, and try to save as much gold as you can.
The quest rewards early on are armor and weapon, so don't spend.
Save up 25k for a bronze energy amulet from lux shop as soon as possible. It regenerates 5 energy per tick and will make leveling faster as you will not have to wait as long for energy to regen for your attack skills. Keep saving for the silver amulet of energization (50k) 10 points per tick for same reason, you can sell your old ammy for 15-20k, then save 100k for golden ammy (20 point per tick) and sell old ammy for 35-40 k.

Also, try not to level up attack skills too fast as they take much more energy to use without much extra benefit.

Do mining pick quest in Crookback, 4 picks give 20 gold and a leystone. laystone can sell for as much as 100 gold each to high level players.

Try to kill enemies a level or two above you for maximum exp with minimum risk (generally speaking, and there are exceptions).

When you get to Shalemont pick up all mushrooms you can and start a spawn cycle with them, 4 fettle caps give 3000 exp from quest (as you level higher the exp get less until about lv 40 it goes to zero).
Milkstalks give 5 energy when used.
Death caps kill u for 2000 hp (makes traveling easyier if you are out of leystones.

At lv 40 u should be killing ribbon swords (lv 51-52) until lv 52, then go to stone vale and kill wisps till 70.

My stats at lv 85:

str 295
dex 55
foc 5
vit 95
Have 644 hp this is a "full dps" build and u better know how to play a rogue to survive this build.
My build while "growing up" was much more balanced.

gutshank, i find dps to be even more powerful with no dex, warden/meteoric armour adds attack and a 15/15 fast reflexes can boost your defence, removing all dex (once u have warden) means you have that many more points for strength which adds a very worthwhile boost to your dmg in boss fights especially/ one hitting the bloodgrove with sneaky
pigman, with the fury of the pigs and the mind of a man
