I leveled a warrior to 120 and got bored with the class.

I'm not sure the purpose of your post. It would be like me going into the warrior forum if I had never played one and tell all the Warriors that I heard warriors suck but have never played one.

Yes they do suck due to lack of decent skills and substandard skills. Our so called support skills are nothing to write home about as well.

As for the people who are all praise for rangers, they are basically those who offgrouped themselves all the way or just use it to afk while dual devicing.

They should seriously rename our class is bolas come to think about it. Thats what we are useful for nowadays.

Honestly many improvements could be made to rangers by just switching many skills from dex based to str, though many major changes need to be made.

I think what would be ideal is if they pulled together a small group of high level/end game rangers and created a think tank for improvements to the class.

I'd like to see sharpshot be both dex and str. 3 of 5 skill bonuses from dl armor is auto based which lends itself to a str build and at that point we also have a lot of pierce dmg that str amplifies.

I have a Ranger and i would not change it for any class, theres certain things that people who dont play a ranger dont understand how adaptable they are! I would say i have used my fair share of alt and rebirths to try and find some perfect setups.

I do roll with a str build but enough dex and hp to survive, setup should really coinsider being able to solo something, im not talking about just standing there and shooting but play the game and think about ur speed and dmg compared to the mob, skills like bolas are good when theres room to move but think about entangle and rapid....

Rangers and druids are not to different, in relation to how you should think of taking down a mob. Also if you want to turn things further your way getting hold of some sigs will go a long way.

Lastly I just want to add, people use to say druids are just healers, now theres some pretty good dps and solo builds out there, they have been developed by people dedicated to making a better class. So if u just sit back use bolas and auto you should really get a few books and mix it up a little see what you can work out!

I agree. They could make sharp shot more useful. A major make-over however I don't think is necessary. Skills are pretty weak, have you tried defensive spikes? It's insulting. Maybe it doesn't have to be like riposte but it is nothing but useless before long, been a while but I'd wager it is useless the moment it's available. Longshot wasn't bad though, I tried it recently with only a small amount of dex and it hit pretty hard. But support skills being bad? No. Dex style build can bring a monster light heal and sharpen per group member adds up to a lot. If yall really wanna see what a ranger looks like come to morrigan and check it out

I don't believe Rangers are a dying breed, I believe most are just narrow minded and onky look at the one aspect. Rangers are a versatile role class, if you think think are under powered then you don't know the Ranger Class. Each and every skill has its use, if you believe it sucks then you just haven't found its proper use. The skills are never meant to all be used, they are to be used in conjunction with your play style. Try playing a spear ranger skills you think suck become viable.

The bottom line is that most of the ranger skills line is broken. Defensive spikes, useless. Explosive arrow, useless. Sharp and barbed shot are weak as hell even with a dex build. Bolas animation has yet to be fixed. Entangle animation. Plus weapon speed is all messed up right now which affects auto-attack rangers more than anyone. Sure we have lots of skills which can be thought of as "versatile" but most of them are completely useless.

Im not a ranger but ur more than welcome to have a build using defensive spikes, barbed shot, sharpshot, longshot (yay) and conceal.
