Re: Newbie Druid Questions
#16Learn the totem ability and get a totem as soon as you can. I believe you can learn the ability in Stonevale. If you haven't made it there yet, get a higher level friend/player to escort you there. Then you will be able to buy a totem from the McLir camp.

Re: Newbie Druid Questions
#17I have the totem ability, but the 2 ancient totems available are melee weapons, I've been meditating during combat instead of attacking. Should I be attacking with a big ol' totem?
Re: Newbie Druid Questions
#18If you have good regen, then disable your auto attack so that you are never engaged in battle unless you hit the attack button.

#19How about we slow down on the emphasis on Luxury? This is a newer player, not someone who's been here for 8 months.
Let me give a few guidelines for playing druid WITHOUT buying platinum.
First, if you can get a totem, do it, and try to get the totem ability from Stonevale when you can. They will be far better late game because you can get offhand items that can help you with energy, a druid's biggest problem. also they have less weight than staffs, but if you only have staffs its not too big an issue for now.
Second, armor. Armor is not the biggest priority you should have considering Shield of Bark and other things like that. The Dusk, Dark, or even Spiritshadow armor will be good for druids, as they give focus, a decent armor amount for your level (considering druids, anyway), and give good amounts of skill evasions, making enemy spells less likely to hit you. Costs no gold, and all you need is some certain mob drops to complete the quests that grant it. If you will buy armor though, make sure it gives something else besides armor, like energy or element resist.
Third, Attribute and skill points. For attribute points a 3/2 ratio between vitality and focus is recommended by many, but you can swap that if you want more damage or like to group level, but always avoid putting points in dexterity and strength, especially strength. For skill points, these are best maxed in this certain order, but can be re-prioritized or replaced; nature's touch, lightning strike, shield of bark, strangling vines, meditate(without good energy regen items), and nature's embrace. Beyond that it's pretty much what you choose.
Finally, if you're still not having a good time as druid, try the other classes. Maybe they'll have the playstyle druid couldn't offer. Maybe they could get you the gold you need to get back to playing druid if you really want to try it.
Hopefully this was helpful to you. Have a nice day.
