Mob upgrades//All class nerfs- Discussion

The Mobs in Stornvale (Can't speak for other areas yet) Have been upgraded significantly. They feel lile they are designed for level 90s, Not level 55-80s. I used to be able to kill a Icewisp in one hit, I know changes were neccesary. But now no matter what i do, Even with bolas it will take me 1 minute to kill a wisp in my path.. And all i get is 50 experience.. Was this intended? It used to take me two hours of nonstop grinding per level.. At 1700 exp a kill.. Now i'm getting 50exp per kill + Constant deaths.

It feels like their health and damage has been increased by 700%

I'm No pro ranger i don't have Max gear like full lux and meteroic. But i don't think mobs were designed in mind that players already had obtained 800-900k gold, And full meteroic gear at this stage.

Nevertheless i have maybe 200k in lux items and full warden..And tried over 15 unique builds.. And can't find a solution.

- This isn't just me level 80 and even level 90 characters are dying to simple druids or horses aswell.

Are you having the same problem? Maybe it's just specific classes that can't keep up? Post below :)
Any feedback is appreciated, I don't want to seem like i'm QQ'ing or raging over the new content.

Have you completed your Ancient Statue Ability quests yet?

I find that until players get these abilities with some kind of numbers on them you are getting your abilities blocked and not blocking theirs. It's a weird situation in this early game when you don't have these abilities that yer actually meant to have. And it's not fair, to you, to say hey spend like a while grinding these abilities but that's kinda the honest truth right now, they need to be brought up to a point where you can deflect the skills coming at you.

I think the HP of these mob's needs to be tweaked back a bit, the SV Druids definately need to heal about 250-300 not 425, and there need to be a few small tweaks in that everyone is using less HP now to be able to do more DMG, but because of that they can't take the hits they used to.

With 20 testers in beta you saw a few issues, but less than an entire server hitting the paces all at the same time.

I also think a few Exp bonuses for people grouping would be a good solution. No point not soloing now, but if you could have a benefit to pairing up, that might mitigate the difficulty a bit. Marshill and Gort have brought this up and if it's gonna be this hard, grouping should be promoted with a few Exp bonuses to groupers.

Will these resistance abilities make it more effectiv? Seems like i will only shrug off some damage after spending a long time leveling the ability.. It might take me a month from 75 till otherworld.. and it only took me 2 weeks from 1-75 as a new player.

They were perfect the way they were before.. 2+ Hours for a single level.. Was the change necessary?

Well to be honest, yes. I mean the abilities let you dodge the heavy skill attacks of the classes. Against the wisps yer prolly right not a serious issue. But against roots, lures, DoTs, Gores etc it starts to matter.

I think legitimately you have some reason to complain, there needs to be a tweak on the SV mob's, but also you were reaching a place in your leveling where it would take more time to level anyway, not like this, but it's certainly being exacerbated by ultra hard mob's against deflection less players.

The game needs to get a few tweaks to make it slightly easier all around, but it's not far off where it should be, it just needs a few pulled back skills and spells from normal mob's that are hitting far harder than they should and a few mob's HP also being higher than it should.

But all said and done, I think with a few tweaks it will be fine. I have extra rebirth/Alt on my toon if you need some, no reason to keep build changing that's a ton of plat thrown down a hole till it gets tweaked.

I posted this on another topic but relevant on this topic too i think...

I would like to add one thing on this topic. I have only played a few hours, havent gone through all the quests or gotten to otherworld yet, but...

I've Killed a "few" mobs in SV, things I would usually walk through give me a hard time now. The fights were long, drained me of nearly all my energy and would be considered epic enjoyable fights. Until I see the reward of 700xp at the end and the realization hits me that I have to do these long epic fights 1000+ times to get a level now.

Maybe the mobs in the Otherworld give more xp, I dunno but clanmates who are in there fighting now say the xp isn't much better. But I will get there and judge for myself and make my own decision.

And my decision will be based upon from a person who got his FBSS and his SSOY in Lower Guk before Kunark was released. If you don't know what that means google it. I make a reference to that game because if Celtic Heroes turns into Celtic Grind, well this game is not worth that. I did my grinding, and don't find it enjoyable anymore.

The changes are good, but if the game turns into a grind, sorry I have too many others things to enjoy in my life and this game will have lost me.

I think the problem is the statue quests nobody knows about them I was in beta knew the new abilitys existed and chars would suck without them I've ran through a load of noob quests and have yet to discover any npc telling you how to get them which really sucks
I have 1 ability willpower now the only reason I have it is tea was kind enough to point me in right direction as for all the others I have no idea where to start looking I've wasted 4 books trying to make a build that works and no macs tell you about the new abilitys which without you r pretty much a useless char

The quests are scattered in random low level areas and they do not have a "?".

I heard some of them are even a little glitchy.

If you actually manage to find the ability quest, Get ready for a wild goose chase because the entire quest is in a riddle and doesn't point you in any direction.. So be ready to randomly run around and kill everything in Lur for a few hours.. pick up everything you see on the ground.. and then run back to check if you got anything. Even after all of that.. I believe your character will still be useless versus the new and improved mobs.. But i guess we will find out in a few days when people start completing the quests.

@Tea, I agree im at that level where leveling up should get harder... and it was.. In update two.. even with my amazing gear.. harder.. I mean two hours of never taking my eye off the screen grinding for one level hard.. The same challenge that you and others had hurdled over in the past.. and like you said.. They should be taken down a notch... More like 50 notches :lol:

Did beta testers test the areas on a low 50 to high 70s character with the correct gear desired for those levels and not with full lux- crystal- meteors? Or was the mob upgrades just something thrown in at the last minute. I can't see how this was slipped by.. besides any high level beta testers not really caring.. I mean it's reasonable to think a player would *shrug* it off and say "it's do-able, Sounds good to me.. I don't have to do it.. I'm going to the otherworld anyways"
