Would a 49/30 defensive spikes be worth it for lvl 130 mobs?

I would use spikes, sharpen, steady, bolas, rest in rapid

Your using conflicting skills, i assume your bolas killing, spikes wont do anything unless you're being hit by melee and its not worth using unless you are a spear ranger or have no where else to dump your points

They won't do anything even if u ARE being hit by melee. Probably gonna do 100-200 dmg max smh:s

Lame skill, always been.

Only way for spikes to be usefully would be in a support ranger spec. All dex. skills light heal, sharpen weapon, defensive spikes, bolas, conceal. Use a spear and offhand to add more Dex. Your gonna Only be usefull in group situations. But your heal will be close to that of A druid. I've ran this spec before and its fun for a bit, but you'll go back to using a bow before long. An like everyone is saying spikes is pretty much useless.

I tried spikes recently as a 200 spear ranger... Terrible terrible terrible... They did about 10% of one melle hit... Worthless

It's terrible cause its pierce damage. It's like trying to punch a deepfire troll to death, its not gonna work. I remember wasting like 20k to make the book in 2012, horrible idea lol. My recommendation is that it should deal poison damage, cause mages have a lure to make fire cloak act like poison, so why not.
