Does Your Druid Fail Too?

#1
This is certainly not a complaint thread. However, I find it somewhat annoying that I'm level 51 and I can't even kill a roaming level 35 skeleton. Please tell me this is not how it is supposed to be. Not only that - I have the best armor in the game, maxed attack skills, and THE best weapon for a druid. Yet I can't even kill a level 35. Is it just me or are druids STILL at a huge disadvantage? Lots of minor tweaks have been made, but we can't kill someone 15 levels below us - this means something isn't right. I've tried to fight a level 50 and it was a joke. You need moutains of MP. Something needs to be done because I know I'm not the only one - this is a serious problem. We are group players but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to solo someone our level - much less 15 levels below us. One small suggestion is to make grasping roots hold longer so at level 10 they don't charge us before it expires. This won't solve the problem though, we just don't have the ability to kill - anything close to our level. Please do something about this. I would love feedback and suggestions from other druids too. Thanks!

The server is offline now what probably means that they update some stuff.
Druid skills will get updated in near future (or right now)
and vines will get more damage and maybe less chance to get rupt. So I think we should wait till we know for sure that the druid has been updated and discuss after that before we are going to talk about problems that are already getting looked at.

from what i could tell the update did reduce overall power of the Druid class
nowhere near as much as it did to the Rogue

but we had less to lose

natures touch became about 50-70hp less effective while becoming significantly more expensive
The damage of strangling vines was halved at least maybe cut to a third, i used to to 40-60 now i do 20-30
which is massivley less that the hundreds that can/could be acheived by rogues or mages

Losing the ability to wear armour and take the weight penalty is going to massivley effect any new druids

although that said the new skills are awesome
Meditate could be more effective but its a step in the right direction and if it improves with higher first aid then thats all rosey

Bark skin, or whatever they called it is awesome i cant wait to max it out and see my armour class
if this stacks with the top level druid gear to give an armour class equal to a warrior in full plate then it is doing well

i have to admit i havent played with the other skills though i have heard that lightningbolt doesnt do nearly as much damage as people were hoping for
can anyone give an estimate of damage for lv10 with their nature magic level?

I think that is everything

the invisible monster patch has apparently greatly increased our ability to re cast spells during combat,
which will really help for the short duration of strangling vines
considering how important strangling vines is to winning solo fights it definatley needs to have its damage put back up

Druids are great now. Regen spell does 31 a tick. Abundance gives like 250 hp buff instead of 90 or somethin. However in a group if I cast the Regen spell (natures abundance) it causes the mobs to aggro me. Which this is the way it should be. Its up to the warrior to keep the hate off me. Haven't messed with vines yet. But lighting strike hits for like 120-130 now. Of course these are all maxed out skills tho. Im going to say this, Dont hold me to it though. Druids might be able to solo with relative ease! Haven't tried yet cause of the darn invisible monsters that are killing me in Donn's room.

I may have posted too soon, they really did great with making things better then they were. I'm glad that we can actually kill stuff now. However, this is what worries me. The NPC's levels were significantly lowered for the most part. So does that mean in the future we will struggle fighting characters our level? I certainly hope not. My other concern is that they don't turn the druid into a "group only support" character but leave us a large margin to solo with. Other then that, the patch fixed my issues. The dev team does a great job of listening to its players.

I have 2 issues with Druid offense. My biggest being to easy for others to steal our kills. Anytime there is more than 2 others in a room with me, I don't have any chance to really kill anything.
2nd being that our offense spells cost to much to kill any thing that others don't break a sweat with. 33 for vines 33 for lightening, and 30 for roots. I think if they just lowered the energy cost of our offensive spells I'd be fine.

I agree cost is a little bit higher then what it should be. I can't have vitality and a nice (safe) amount of casts to kill a higher level enemy. I either have to choose between vitality/less MP or mountains of MP and no vitality so no room for mistakes. Right now I'm with vitality/MP combo but a friend and guardian of the clan (Firion) uses the MP approach and it works wonders when we do boss runs. He also never buys sigils so his MP stays high but he has no vitality so if something goes wrong he encounters problems. As for me - I run out of MP and I end up using the staff to finish off regular NPCs. Lowering energy cost wouldn't hurt - or bumping up max damage at the 10th skill level.
