Its that time a year again. The time when I start getting the shakes. These chests. Oh god these chests. I'm going to ruin myself getting them. And I'll probably just end up with a bag full of heroic attack elixers. Then I'll be slumped over in the corner by the bank wearing ragged fashion rambling on about I just need one more chest...just one more...one last time...hahaha

If you throw out the über rare mount and plat/gold prizes because they are so unlikely when you open just a few chests the expected value per chest is probably around 12k. So buying at 20-25 will likely lose you a lot of gold.

That said if you include the 1000-1 odds of the big prize then the expected value is closer to 20 however you likely wont see this unless you open thousands.

The expected value is the gold you would get if you opened a extremely large amount, say a billion, and divided the loot by a billion to get the typical chest value.

Last event I won around 2000 plat and tons of good fash. So far I have only opened 4 chests and I got radiant fashion and scs

I got the expected value from the event before last from around 1000 chests, both posted to forum and from my own and clannies opening. It's a fairly safe assumption the value is similar for this event, those energy pots are worth 300g tops and there isn't much demand for the fashion from what I've seen.

I profitted pretty significantly last event when it was coming near an end. I found people who kept selling them for 10k each. I found that it's really not worth opening chests unless you open 75 minimum. (Assuming u keep spending winning plat on more chests) I've made double the money I've spent a couple times, but this event I think I'm gonna pass on plat for now because these chest drops arnt catching my eye at all.
