Its a fact that mage stuff is alot easier to get then warrior, not depreciating. Also, to be honest mage edl isnt a good armor set, has the worst stats of any classes edl.

Its not all about getting the highest damage. All our mages primarily use DL and EDL gown and skirt. Better resists and overall survivability rates. Looking at your death count, i can only infer that you die a lot perhaps because you stuck with your ancient beastbone just to get that few hundred damage bonus at the expense of lower hp and resists.

Hrung helms meant I would never be able to have full DL/EDL sets. If one was to pick between a helmet that gave skill points/direct damage boost/stat points over a helmet that improves survivability and nothing else, any mage in their right mind would choose the former.

Maybe your mages have never had to lock fight, I don't know. Consider yourself lucky if you aren't required to have good DPS.

Edit: EDL chest piece has 8 extra armour and 15 resists extra compared to Occult.. So yeah

You have 0 chaos resists from them. How many times does High Priestess of Morrigan kills you?

Your 12k+ death record count says otherwise. All the EDL bosses have nasty Chaos AoE also. Especially those small rooms like Revenant's and Unox's.
In any case, I don't presume to tell you how to play your char. Just that EDL mage sets, whilst the skills on them kinda suck, they're still good items and certainly EDL is better than Ancient Beastbone. We do have lock fights, but anything that isn't weak to fire or ice, it's always a rogue battle anyway.
