The reason atrisal drops them is because it is back of the story line... I would suggest that rather than have Atrisal the Invincible in Shale be the only spawn to drop the bindings, have another (extra) Atrisal occasionally spawn in Stonevale somewhere where the druids are or in the entryway area of the OW... Explain his unusual spawn point by saying that he is going on a search for the pages he lost

As for the statue quests, the leaf and stone of day/night/stars are WAY too long to complete... I have only scored 1 leaf and NO stones after 3 days of more or less continuous searching/killing. I do like how the statues appear on the HUD now though.

now i am just sick of it, killed 6 defectors and most recently, wrolf the unstoppable, well have a little guess what dropped? a symbol of mebh!!!!!!!
this is insanity, just let the defector squires drop the things, win win for all involved, lower levels dont have to deal with them, and i wont spend 3 days looking for something that should be a little easier to find!

Admin/devs,

This seems to be getting stupid, one of the main reasons for me not playing since the update is these stupid quests for abilities that we apparently need to be able to play properly and no one can finish them.
Also the new skills drop idea is really silly, no one knows who drops the skills.
We were told plenty of times before the update that everyone needed them.
If we could obtain them at a shop, you would be getting literally zero complaints about the update.
I know I can't say much as I'm not playing at the moment, but please rethink the way we obtain them all.

On a selfish note, if you would be so kind to "gift" me the skills and abilities, I am happy to get back to playing full time and buying plenty of plat again. :D

Looking forward to this being changed. Am I right that if one says here "4 star mobs" they mean Squires and not Masters or Captains? It really should have been much simpler than it is. Admin - please remember that we will still have to level those abilities by 900-1000 points to level them with the present ones, which got just by paying a few pieces of gold at a shop. Can't understand why it has to be so hard. And also, if there is such a long way for us to go to level them up they really should have been the highest priority, compared to other bug fixes.

just a note on the situation.
at the moment i am just waiting on a star stone to drop!!! so thank god for that! now just a little bit of a grievance, why, oh why did it get changed to just defectors dropping the stones? this makes very little sense to me, squires dropping them would have been the logical choice in my book, as it leaves the defector quest untouched for new guys and still has the challenge of finding the stones for quest do'ers (although once one person finds the answer, the riddle is kind of unimportant, since you dont even need to figure it out for yourself, you can just ask, or, like a lot of people do, just buy them).
hate to be a wet blanket and all, but seems a "no trade" on these stones, and let them drop from squires would have had the game flow a little bit smoother! just my 2 cents!!!

+ 1 to zigfrid.

This is causing issues now. It used to be that a group could kill a defector and everyone got credit. Now that these mobs drop a valuable item, it is impossible to group, because everyone wants that drop. While low levels may still do so in the hopes of the drop (and the only viable way to kill the mob) the fact is that they will rarely get the chance.

Higher levels just solo it in hopes of the stone.

Suggestions:
1. As zigfrid mentioned, change the dropper to a place holder or something.
2. Increase the number of items the mob could drop, to be similar to frags off red bosses. I would be happy to group with people knowing that it could drop 3 stones on my group.

well still waiting on that star stone, not only have i had 5 moon stone drop, it still drops defector weapons and for what i can only imagine to be something to p**s people off, symbols of mebh, really who uses defector weapons? you cant even sell them on. Well i am one of those people, and i cannot understand the games developers stand on this. If you are going to make a feature in a game, where you need an ability then, maybe, just maybe, either make the different stones drop from different levels, so for example, page drop moon, squire drop night and defector drop star, so this would not be a problem, and hence smoother game flow, with no bottle knecking.
I mean come on, a group of developers, a team of beta testers and this is the best that has been paraded out!!!! its beginning to look a lot like all that has been done is make everyone a level 30 again and call it an update.

I found a starstone of the bowman defector in the shalemont river.

I like how these quest items can be traded!

This encourages high levels to interact with and put newbies to work, and gets newbies rewarded for helping the high levels.

I concur with placing the stones on easier opponents too.
