There's not really much to do:

1. Buy a bunch of chests

2. Sit there opening chests

Is that hard work?

Or :
1 farm for hours to get gold
2 shout in every area that you are buying

Seems had work for me, since white fash is expensive.
And even if he bought chests, he worked irl for it. They didn't just appear in his inventory

The 'he worked hard in RL for it' argument is void.

You're pretty much saying he worked hard to make the decision to waste money on a mobile game. I'd say a majority of people on mobile games have jobs or some sort of steady income to pay off their phone bills, wifi and so on. So it's not a matter of working hard in RL than it is just choosing to shell out hundreds-thousands of dollars on chests.

Go watch some YT videos of people opening 100+ chests at a time and tell me that would be enough to get almost full white of any set. Newsflash-it won't. It's not hard to become rich on any of these mobile games as long as you're willing to spend ridiculous amounts of money which isn't my concern. Do what you want with your money.
