It's just about what you prefer, speed or power. Most people don't like ice just like most people don't like ymir weapons, because its slower.

Fire is better dps than ice pretty much the entire fight after 10 seconds and no one can prove otherwise.

Fire is only better for bossing(and even then a ice mage can get the kill). Since very few enemies are bosses compared to all enemies, ice is generally better because of the burst damage to kill high lv mobs/small bosses quicker then fire. Also most of the time when you camp a boss its a 4/5*, which is quickly taken down(ice more dps there). Even as ice its still not hard to get kills on 6*(if you do not belive me check my 6* kills(i havent been boss fighting for almost a year also, should be more)). I also like ice because of the extra range ice blast has over firestorm. There's reasons you can be either, but ever since i started(even before ice blast existed) i always was ice, and thats what i prefer.

I have proven that fire is better dps than ice after the 15 second mark. Sorry, but if you want to prove otherwise you need to actually give evidence.

The difference of dps is small(small enough a ice mage can beat a fire mage to a kill). Yes fire does has more long term dps.... However ice being a big attack in a short time(burst dmg), makes it far more versatile then fire. Ice is better for leveling, farming, and locking bosses. Fires only strength is fighting high lv bosses(ice is better for lower lv ones). Another thing about ice i forgot to add. Firebolt, firestorm, and ice shards are interuptable. Ice blast isnt

^They are not interrupted often enough to change much. The only differnce on my world is that lately most high lvls active mages are ice mages.

You still haven't proven any evidence, unlike myself, so I'll just ignore your posts. According to everyone on Lugh, all you do is merch anyway so your points on gameplay are really not swaying the argument for ice.

I should just stop arguing so not much focus is placed on the superiority of fire for my own benefit.

Im a mage first and a merchant second. That being said i am equally as good at both. Anyway, fire and ice both have different strengths and weaknesses, like i have mentioned. And those differences are not much, so to anyone deciding to be fire or ice just pick what your world has the least of, because gear will be easier to find.

sounds like you accept defeat i'm not sure what difference it would make in terms of knowledge if someone quits their end game mage. that person would still have the same knowledge, and being level 210 or whatever doesn't make anyone have any more knowledge about a class.

i'm a fire mage so i'll weigh in on this. there are a lot of variables to consider when determining what element to choose. availability of gear is a big one. choosing the path less taken is a pretty wise choice in some cases. its really up to the player to adapt and overcome. i do agree with furyion that ice is best for burst damage, ie leveling and short fights. i'm not sure why you are so against his points.
