I guess full strength takes a lot of the thought and work out of a ranger if that's how people want to play. Sort of like hitting the easy button, except your defense, attack, light heal, etc all majorly suck. That severely gimps you on bosses and such. If all your doing is hitting on normal mobs full strength may be ok, but definitely not optimal. Why play a half ass ranger when you can actually be usefull?
All you endgame rangers listen to this guy. A 120 ranger here to school you on how to play your class. Listen carefully you might learn something.

I have tried full str builds and do not prefer them on rangers to hybrids that use more str than dex but still use some dex. I'm a bit bias because the support skills like sharpen and heal are more important to me as my group size rarely falls below 5.

What people say about end game rangers is true if you go full dex your skills don't hit for that much more and your autos stink - throw in skill evades and energy issues some people without gear/sigils have and for soloing high str builds are actually about the best in my opinion. The gear will always make a big difference, as will how you play your ranger.

As an example, because I'm always grouped up, with an explosive arrow hrung helm and mordy brace and 1500 energy sigils i just love the skill. Without the gear, solo, and with no sigils it would be terrible.

One day we all will hear a sonic boom and it will be the sound of strength based Rangers pulling their heads out of their rear ends. The whole concept of putting every stat point into strength and completely ignoring your class skills is beyond ridiculous. Yeah you get high auto damage, but nothing else. Any ranger who doesn't stack dex to increase the power of a dex based skill has no reason to complain about it. If you build your ranger to fail it will. That should be common sense. The improvements coming to skills and the evasion improvements will help us enormously "IF" you go the dex route. If not, then all you strength folks are going to suffer even more than you do now. You will have nobody to blame but yourselves, but I'm sure that won't stop all prebuescent whining and crying on the forums about how terrible your Rangers are.
My eyes have been opened. I will noe use defensive spikes!

Wow, you're right! It's "beyond ridiculous" that none of us high end rangers have ever tried a dex build before! All this time we could have had weak skills AND weak autos! It sure is a good thing you came here to tell us how doing less overall damage and wasting more lixes to level will get us the lower evasions we so desperately need!

This picture is the perfect example of the future for us, rangers.
We got it from the Otherworld launch in idk which year and OTM never fixed it!
(50-75dmg each 3 autos doing 1400+dmg)
Why should a skill exist if no one use it?

But, wait
We should be happy, OTM is working on pink rabbits and Hello kitty butterflies companions!
Why should we need a fix on ALL our skills?

Cloak of fire used to be good but then OTM found out about powerleveling with it. Now it's nearly as useless as spikes.

Druids still have rescue which is completely useless, and spring of life - a skill so useless it was actually bugged and unusable for over 8 months before getting a fix and no one even noticed.

Skewer is a great example of a nearly useless skill for rangers rogues and warriors.

Makes me wonder, with all this, what the new skills are and what the combat revamp is going to be for the final tower update.

Ask dem0n, or any other full str high level ranger, how much their attack sucks on a full str build. 8k+ is sucky, I'll admit. Now can we see your awesome op stats?

Exactly. If the subject was moving when killed sol wouldn't work till they relogged. Further before the new engine you could target dead people out of party. After the new engine you couldn't so sol took a huge nerf, from useless to i forgot that was even a skill. But yea they increased the range a few weeks ago so now it's fixed.

You must be trolling!!

Putting points in Dex is only good for light heal. The bonuses from steady and sharpen with 1k dex vs 300 dex is barely noticable. Those points are far better off in str or vit unless people want to be able to heal.

Also, defence and heal do not gimp anyone on bosses except warriors and druids.

Also, the attack difference isn't enough to bother with, look through this forum and you'll see Rangers with 10k+ ATTACK. 1k is only 10% of that. Not many people will have 1k dex over 1k str to get 1000 attack instead of roughly 500 damage
