Re: Future for rangers

I think the issue is that they designed the skills for leveling, rather than for bossing. 200+ level players spend most their time bossing. Almost every 220+ player spends all their time bossing
For rangers:
bolas is very nice for leveling (esp solo), whereas it has no use on a lot of bosses
lightheal is good for leveling as well, whereas on bosses not so much because rangers are rarely taking damage
longshot is bad for training, crap for bosses
doubleshot is nice for both

For warriors:
shatter is amazing for training, but hardly useful on bosses (in terms of evening out dps)
pummel does huge dmg on mobs, but very little on many bosses
rupture seems to have even effectiveness on both
def formation, protective stance have marginal use on bosses as a dps warrior but are nice for leveling

overall, neither class has tons of useful skills. And of these skills, many are fine for leveling but are worthless for bossing. Either new skills should be added (difficult), current semiuseful skills need to be buffed to work well on bosses without being op for training (difficult) or completely change the current "crap" skills so that someone might actually want to use them (and maybe make them nice for bosses, crap for training)

I don't actually play a high lv ranger, but i think they should be out dpsing rouges imo. Because since when does a needle out dps a big ass bow?
Since they aren't needles and are as long as one's forearm tutu

Against a bow 5x the size of your needle, I dont think so.
The bow isn't the thing doing the damage, it's the arrow coming out of it which is roughly the same size as a dagger

I just have hard time understanding the logic that stands behind Pummel being drastically decreased on bosses, more than anything else in the game, could someone explain it to me please?

But then you have to realize with the strong draw on the bow, it would basically have a multiplier effect. Still should be way more damage than 2 daggers.

Yes however you could say the same with daggers being pushed into said mob with all your force. Not like it really matters as nothing in the game makes 100% sense lol.

I just have to say very well said, I never thought of it that way and it makes better sense. Maybe it wasn't otm's initial intentions but it actually sounds good.

Once we are getting into the reality issue, why do mages and druids work at all? Why does moving your hand and "imagine yourself in a happy place" make magic happen? Its a game, its not realistic.

Back to topic, ik otm fixed fluctuation a bit and improved ranger skill damage, but since i dont play a ranger for a main i didnt pay attention to the specifics of the buff. i did start a ranger alt a while back and all the skills but longshot and double shot suck damagewise (didnt bother getting sharpen weap bc im using an askold bow for high skill damage), so im hoping otm will increase sharpshot damage and add a new damage skill that does something like ignore armour or something cool like that.

What a great idea! Give Rangers a shadowstrike skill and nerf rogues, that will help the class imbalance! Rangers don't need a buff they are fine the way they are

Rogues got a ss, why cant rangers? Is doing damage rogue exclusive? while it isnt fair that rogues got such a harsh nerf, it doesnt mean other classes cant get buffs anymore. It means rogues now need a buff along with the other classes. Do you really feel that all classes in game are complete the way they are and dont need skill additions? :o
Maybe a ignore armour skill is too much, but that doesnt mean a buff wont be helpful.
