Ranger is by far the best class, and it is possible to outdps rogues, it's just hard!

Maybe at really high levels. with really good equipment. but you have to look at a rogue with equally powerful equipment. I was leveling with someone in my clan, they have a tank level 202. and a rogue 2 levels lower than me. We were fighting at bogans. and i had a str auto build. with lower dex and vit because with super combo my max health goes up and the speed of my attacks is increased to where i need to just auto.

Because we had similar equ. and we were fighting mobs my level. my auto's were 40-50 on average higher than his. but the mobs were 131-134. and he was lvl 128. his SS was hitting 1100-1300. His Life steal was hitting 300-400. and healing him while not slowing down at all on dps. and his quickstrike hitting 580-700 as a insta. This is with a comparable str build. IF i maxed my sharpshot with this similar build it would hit the same or lower than my autos. because its dex based and my auto build for lixing is str based. and my double shot takes so long to cast compared to auto speed while lixing it actually hurts my dps.

He was getting every single kill while we lix'd together. He gets 30-35% solo per lix through the mid to high 120's. While i was getting 15-20% solo per lix through the same levels. I tried a dex build but it makes no sense because boggans are close together and longshot doesnt work far away. and the one or two sharpshots you shoot, doesnt make up for the loss of damage your weaker autos get.

Poison rogues (ss ls & pw) get every kill in carrowmore as mobs there have 0 poison resists ;don't even think of outdpsing them ever in there. Rangers really shine once they get their DL gear. Like really awesome, just ask gazz alli or embers. At endgame rangers are a whole different beast than say at 130-160s, till then maybe a hard run

Yeah i havent given up on my ranger despite what the title of this topic is. HEHE. but yeah i love rogues as well. my alt is a rogue.

It's a slow trek to get into the 170's but i try to group up with people whenever i can. heck it isnt even that bad leveling with a druid, i never have to heal myself and they can add some dps as well.

Rogues auto around 600-1k at rev adds, I auto 1400-2k, easy to outdps them

You guys have me scared now.

I wanted to play ranger, but from all this talk, I think I'll switch to rogue or warrior.

Idk why so many haters. I read a long time ago that Rangers were bad pvp so I took to change their perception and was successful. If anyone says rangers are bad at pvp I challenge them to come to morrigan and watch what happens. Now I have not done too much myself in way of boss kills, but there are some of the best rangers on the server in my guild and they get boss kills so I don't wanna hear their dps being no good either!

If us rangers wanted to rebirth and make a straight pvp build.....i beleive you.

However, i think the main point is if hour build indeed is mastering pvp, i fear that it could do nothi g else well.

I too have found if i dedicate all my items and build to pvp, sure we can be decent. My biggest problem with pvp is SHATTER and lure. How can 2 classes get skills that instantly make your other skills 2-3x as effective? Shatter and lure shouldnt even be an option in pvp. If you get shattered, its pretty much game over, considering that same supposedly melee warrior can giant swing you from sharshop range (wtf is that?!?)

I could accept the shatter if he needed to be close to me which isnt the case. Im not even sure why they call them "melee" , when his skill range is almost equal to some of my bow skills.

Finally, someone who gets it. You're absolutely right about the rebirthing for pvp and being useless otherwise. I only do pvp style when there is a line of ppl waiting for their turn to meet their end. Warriors are the absolute worst imo. Worst to face ofc, as they can outmatch you even with lower end items. I'm working on different styles and ideas in hopes to change that. Gunna take time but I'll certainly post my findings once I get there. One of the better warriors on my server I've only got to half hp before dying.

This was my hest strat for ranger pvp dual:

step 1 Get a run speed ring, and a longshot cast reduction charm.

Step 2 start dual

Step 3 RUN - hell maybe now can mounthotkey/run

Step 4 bolas and dmg until bolas is 2s left

Step 5 longshot that beouch.....soon as Ls is about done bolas is back again.

If ure lucky u wont get hit by a MELEE class from longshot range (god knows whos idea it was that you have to be in range for the START OF A SPELL, but can be 10,000 yards when it casts and u still get hit.

If you can stay alive u can actually win wo getti g hit. I only wish they made the dual area bigger, as its quite small for a rangers tastes!

That sounds like it'll work, D. I been thinking about trying out that method. Usually I just rapid shot them in their face until they stop moving, whatever works !

This was only strategy ever to work using my NORMAL BUILD (~1500 dex and only 4500 hp). Lmao


I like your rustic in the face approach much better , as there are quite a few less steps(which i imagine takes a wee bit more vit).
