Whats more deadly pvp wise
A fire magic with freeze skill and freeze mount
Or an ice mage with freeze skill and freeze mount

Ice mages since they can utilise the large cool down gaps with freezes, whereas fire mages will be constantly breaking freeze due to low cool down.

Reason i ask is because an icemage could be taking alot of dmg while casting shards and blast whereas a mage has insta cast bolt and a med speed storm ice mage might hit harder and have 2 freeze skill but could die whiling casting while a fire mage hits weaker but they take less dmg

You won't be taking damage for the first skill. Here's how it would work for an ice mage: Swap to shield offhand. Cast freeze. Swap to focus offhand. Lure. Run away to max skill range. Cast iceblast when freeze has 1-2 secs left. Cast iceshards. If they're still alive, swap to shield offhand. Run. When freeze is ready again recast it

That way you're taking advantage of your burst damage, syncing your iceshards and blast cooldowns with freeze so that you're still doing practically full dps but taking less than half the damage you normally would. Much harder to do for fire mage, but still doable. At higher levels your fire skills should be hitting 5k+ on lured opponents. Only a tank could survive that usually, and you have another 5k firebolt ready in 3 secs to finish the job.
