Re: Sharpen Weapons?
#12It's nice to be able to heal yourself? Cuts down on resto use? I think it's kind of obvious why you'd use light healIf going str build, why light heal?

#15It's not nearly as good though, that's what I'm asking. Doesn't make sense to heal yourself if in the time it takes to heal you take as much damageIt's nice to be able to heal yourself? Re: Sharpen Weapons?
#16Thats the main reason I stay away from using heal. I feel that people use it thought because there isn't many options to dump points in as a ranger. It's not nearly as good though, that's what I'm asking. #17I can inform u that your statement is bs. I'm lvl 191 and for the past year I used exactly 50 restos. I have my light heal set to heal me a little bit over 1k hp and I'm happy with it.It's not nearly as good though, that's what I'm asking. #18The damage steady aim gives you is not listed on the skill, this is because it's a multiplier depending mainly on the amount of piercing damage your mainhand has and of course the amount of Dex/ranged combat you have as well. (For those that didn't know this go cast steady aim with a low level vendor bow and then try DL or EDL or whatever you use while checking stat damage increase before trying to tell me I'm wrong) so this means sharpen weps adds more damage until around L140-160 when you get a wyrm bow But personally I'd still use steady aim for the attack boost. Not missing is better dps
As for the build, Dex is not that bad. 1 Dex = 2 defense and 1 attack and boosts your skills that you do use by a very minor amount. For someone around your level I would recommend around 150-200 Dex after boosts. not base. It will really help with the plat cost of leveling and really it doesn't effect your damage by a lot at all.
I wouldn't know what gear you use but use enough vit to give you 2-3k HP. Then dump the rest of your points in strength.
You need to use a lot of damage gear for a strength build (element damage offhand until L150 where you can switch to quiver of the wind or continue using the Dex quiver for Dex and regens, earth stone breastplate, legs, vendor dmg helm, crush/slash/pierce dmg braces or aggy strength/bow ability braces, aggy dmg rings, sunfire damage charm, midnight Tali for L100-149 or old event earth stone necks that add heat and magic dmg, also the wyld ammys from ostara that have a damage skill are great and give nice stats and HP boost) strength build starts to become a lot more effective when you start getting Dragonlord armor but with the correct gear it can be great before that to.

I can inform u that your statement is bs. I'm lvl 191 and for the past year I used exactly 50 restos. I have my light heal set to heal me a little bit over 1k hp and I'm happy with it.[/quote]
So you're going to tell me that light heal is just as good on high dex build as it is with full str build? That is what you're saying. Allow me to inform you that is incorrect.

No one said that.
What acid said was he was healing for 1k. He didn't say his heal would be the same with high dex. We all know light heal increases with more dex. My ranger is low dex and heals a bit over 900 and that's enough to cut down my resto use a lot.
