Hello all fellow mages of Epona and even other world mages if you would like to be involved this thread will be the beginning of an information and help era in Celtic heroes for mages. Well anyways the purpose of this thread is for mages through Celtic heros to post thier strategys and findings about the game to help other mages get a head start. Also you may join the guild which starting level is going to be 90 a high level but I feel it is a most crucial factor to be involved fully in this movement due to lack of game experience. Sometimes meetings will be arranged to discuss new things and ideas eventually at least once we gain enough members that want to be apart of this.
if you wish to be apart of the council in the guild post your name and status in- game on this thread the first 5 mages within requirements will be accepted as the council those people will be expected to be polite while representing this guild and not use foul language due to the fact that children play this game.
Ps no this is not a clan only a civilized group meant for intelligent players to help others progress through the game through experience and knowledge of in-game content. Also please do not flame on this thread any flaming or foul language will be reported to a moderator and post will be removed.
Thank you
Re: Epona Mages Guild
#2Ok here is the first installment of the mages guild a guide to training the 5 new abilitys since some players do not know how to do this yet.
Ability:
Warding: being hit by a magic attack that damages you
Vigour: may be other ways but I have only been able to train this ability by getting hit by strangling vines (Druid skill)
Fortitude: it seems that this ability can only be trained in otherworld but it increases when you are attacked from a melee base attack.
Reflex: I have yet to figure out this abilitys training method will come as soon as I figure it out, my guess is the same as fortitude just trains at a much slower pace.
Willpower: I also don't quite understand the training method to this but I assume you must be hit with weakening spells to raise this skill example( lure of fire or ice hex).
Hope you guys enjoy this small bit of help any questions feel free to ask.

#4Congrats on the new Guild.
I still own the one on Arawn but it is inactive right now. Everyone moved on to clans for boss hunting.
by the way. If you want willpower train on Green eyeballs.

Re: Epona Mages Guild
#7Thank you for all the wisdom Kech. I want to contribute the way I train my Warding:
I lvl up 300 points after I get my warding skill the first day. My trick is to attack the connacht initiate at the end of mage hill.
Here is what I will do:
Stand close to a 1 star connacht initiate but not to close for him to hit you with his wand.
Hit him once and then auto attack off (or heal).
Then go get a cup of coffee and come back to check on progress after 15 min![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
Do come back to check on it b/c you cant camp after update. If you have really good rejuv item, take on 2 initiates (they are right next to each other) to double the speed.
If you do not want to camp. Get a pot and train your ice skill of fire skill as well with the same initiate.
A 1 star connacht initiate can usually last you 15 min. Then kill it and wait for another one.
This method maybe not the fastest one. But you can read, work while still training...great for ppl have a busy real life schedule too (like me)
Bounce: A mage boss might show up once a while and drop u a moonstone.
Do say hi to me if you use this method. And there are pretty of connacht initiate for everyone (well maybe 4)

Re: Epona Mages Guild
#8Warding can be easily trained by engaging ANY Spellcasters in Shale using this method. If you have rejuv/regen item, I suggest coaxing two or more into attacking you.
This will also work against loredancers, druids, or any other mobs that cast 'spells' which do direct damage (fire bolt, ice shards, lighning) although the fast that druids and loredancers hit harder may make training in this fashion more difficult.

#9Totally agree Shaggadelic ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
I take on 2 spell caster (1 star) at a time. I do not think stronger spell caster help lvl up faster, instead, it kill you faster
The whole point of this method is to "not look at the screen and not worry about dying". So camp according to your lvl, and rejuv/regen you have.
I am still looking for the best way to train other abilities for mage. If anyone know, please keep sharing their wisdom.
I do believe high warding lvl is key to survive in the other world (at least for me who cannot afford diamond armors)

Re: Epona Mages Guild
#10I am able to take on 3 of pretty much any type of casters that spawn by the tower on mage hill simultaneously. I like to stand in the middle of the fire pit with my golden shrink charm while being bombarded - looks pretty epic...
As for training any other abilities, first, make sure that you have spoken to the appropriate ability trainers and actually PURCHASED ALL of the ones your class can use.
Second, make sure you have purchased and READ all of your skill books received at the start of the game, and be make sure you equip em & swap em around every once in a while (i.e. equip ALL first aid and passive skills while in safe areas so you can spam em on yourself or others!)
Keeping a few spells/skills at their base level 1 will also help ensure you can spam something with low energy cost.
Note, in the current update you can simply redo the entire starting quest chain, which has a much nicer/cohesive story, basically provides you with all the skills and abilities for your class, and serves as a very nice walkthrough with a decent lil' ring award (the signet of Lir's) if you complete it. Anyone can do it regardless of level, and highly recommend doing it AT LEAST once! If you are savvy and take your time with it you can also complete the 3 Lir's reach statue quests in relatively short order, as the starter quests takes you nearby the Dryads, and clovers!
First aid should be spammed for at least a few hours early on.
The way ability level trains is basically a random chance each time that ability is used. Fire magic ability would be used every time he/she casts a fire spell. The likelihood of the ability going up a notch is very high if your level is low (say, 25/50 Cunning Ability) and decreases the higher it gets (so, someone with a 340/500 ice magic will be far less likely to level up than someone with 120/300...)
