so in the title which is better for a rogue dps, if you have the spear more damage but slower attack speed, and if you have the dagger less damage faster attk speed and you can use sneaky attack which you cant with spear. And the mordy spear is focus btw

The only plus on the spear is the higher damage. The auto dps will likely beat the dagger(just going by memory of stats) however you would need to be on a haste lix for that. I would personally use the dagger if you use sneaky attack or don't like being on haste lixes 24/7. I would use the halberd if it was str however the constant need for haste lixes still puts me off. I always just stick with daggers.

Hotbar em both.

Downsides of the spear is it's slow therefore the dps from elemental damage is a lot less. Unless you are on haste lix it's likely worse dps, esp if you have an elemental/poison set. Also to being unable to use sneaky with the spear is a downside for some builds such as for bossing.

You're going to use haste lix anyway when bossing, so it beats dagger on autos.

Even when not using haste lix, I find that I get a boss kill still over dagger rogues (save when I'm going up against ones 8 lvls higher than me, that's you saladin).

150 str/dex is not a small bonus also.

Sneaky? Hotbar the dagger, cast sneaky, and back to spear.

Surest way to tell is take your damage stat and divide it by your weapon speed. That will tell you which has better auto damage.

For high str builds the spear may be better non haste but for half dex half str or dex builds it will be less to a lot less. Of course if you don't have spear maxed then it will be terrible until you have a good skill level.

Use spear over dagger when on haste but when you get dl and EDL dagger use that over spear

Personally I think shop dagger is better, yea sure u might get a little more from autos but some skills will cast slower and you cannot use sneaky(which is amazing because it cannot be evaded). Also the spear gives you focus which is not very useful, and dagger adds 700 attack which is quite a good bit. Although spear may hit higher, dagger can help u cast skills faster, use sneaky, and adds 700 attack
