Because str is just a stupid build, I can't see why otm would want it to work like that, where a ranger literally has to put in no effort to get kills, cast steady and sharpen every 2min
@acid: saying we Rangers is a very generalised statement since u can't talk for all Rangers and I am a ranger with different views to yourself
Or add new str skills.
Something was always wrong with rangers when we were never given str based skills while other melee classes in game had skills that could be boosted by 2 stats. Warriors could boost tank skills by vit while dps skills by str, rogues could boost certain skills by dex and str. Because of this, endgame hybrid rangers are pointless.
Strength is not op, you're just seeing EDL quiver rangers out dps rogues with no EDL rondel. The basis of that argument can very well be from Gwydion where EDL quiver rangers have poison sets while the 3 rogues that have rondel do not and go for adds.
basically it's all about the offhands.
Rangers skill which is 800 divine for 28 secs (assuming no misses but we know there is) under 1120 speed which is edl bow on heroic haste does approx 20,000 dmg with 90 sec cooldown.
Edl rondel does 10,000 dmg in its 5 ticks over 28 secs but with a 45 sec cooldown so both offhands are even in a world with no misses. Difference being rogues need to share and often don't get the whole time of their rondel everytime it could be recast on bosses. but totally unfair? No, Rangers probably miss 50% of their autos since the dmg isn't unevadeable. But with the amount of rondels on gwydion at bosses it's fair to say rangers use more of that divine damage during boss fights.
1v1 quiver vs rondel will be rondel everytime unless the rogue is not very well geared compared to the ranger. Gwydions top rangers are just better geared then the top rogues (some top rogues don't have EDL rondel yet) and Rangers get called OP here when really rogues either dont have access to or don't know what gear to get.
In a big endgame clan there is usually 5+ rondels at any given raid fight and more then 2 at EDL bosses usually. So this favours rangers and this information possibility influenced friddos decision to post what he did above.
With the transition to poison resisted bosses in tower from 0 poison resisted bosses in carrow it made rogue skills; poison weapons, lifesteal and shadowstrike not as effective and a lot of rogue don't use them anymore or don't boost them. So let's say a rogue and a ranger used a poison set and it is de buffed on the new bosses it effected rogues more by de buffing their poison set and then lot of skills and this closed some of the gap in damage distrubution between the classes now that divine damage is the only non resisted type. Now it's more about your gear instead of your class.
