Re: Your quick guide to being a merchant

I used to merch a lot however I gave it up. It was too much work typing and tracking down people and holding a large inventory I wouldn't use that I still had to pay for.

Instead I found myself farming and making a ton more money. I've made huge sums in other games but they had auction houses.

If you are new and have no ability to farm then this method is for you. If you have two + accounts at end game merching just isn't very good compared to farming. Maybe I was just spoiled by playing games with action houses. I honestly can't think of another even half successful mmo without one.

Its a fairly simple plan that works. Selling stuff is a great way to make money. I think the hardest part is you have to be interested in it.

I don't care much for in game items so I could care less what there value is. Because if this I only buy and sell plat items which have relatively stable prices.
It's hard to start out selling plat items but once you have several million I suggest buying in bulk whenever you can. Then sell off you extras if you need some cash.

i like it then i don't im very impatient, i make impulsive buys and then lose money but i like it because even tho ive lost alot i would never have had any of that money if it weren't for merching.

i bought 5 camo charms at 100k each from shop. Sold them at 5m each. I beat Warren Buffet on the ROI. If you want to brag about how much profit you have made buying and selling stuff, you have to beat me.
Well, technically I multiplied my starting amount more than you, so technically speaking I would be the more efficient merchant. I started with about 250 gold, 150k=250*600, while 5m=100k*50. You'd still have a higher profit though :D
I started from lvl 1 and 0 gold now hold 30mil in gold and tons of items so I think I beat a lot (to be fair after I farmed 8k I started merching) it took 2 years to get though my overall networth in game maybe 60mil

How long did it take?
Be true to the game, because the game will be true to you. If you try to shortcut the game, then the game will shortcut you. If you put forth the effort, good things will be bestowed upon you.
