First and foremost, I genuinely want to say a thank you to Muldar for standing up to the complaints seen on this forums for the past 12 hours, granted that a big mistake was made when deciding the new spawn time, the amount of drops weren't altered. Besides that, proteus is fine as a 1 day + boss since it's been called a raid boss time and again, just the drops weren't tweaked.

Now to the point. As mentioned on a separate thread, we should be grateful proteus even drops pureness they were meant to come off Gelebron but it was a nice addition to Proteus. The attack braces are extremely useful for DPS classes while defence bracelets have a special spot in the heart for tanks <3

But why do people feel that the whole goddam Doch Gul armour set is supposed to come off of of ProTeaUs?! There is Gellybrawn too yknow, and albeit he is impossible to defeat currently, he will obviously be tweaked. Most of you should know this considering how long Mordris and Necro were up before being destroyed by respective servers.

We are going in with the wrong mindset when we complain on forums about prot. No, we are not meant to kit our mains, our alts, our women and our children with this armour solely through proteus. Gele is there and will soon be dying in a month or two.

And as I've stated in other threads... You still have the chaos resist from mixed EDL and Doch Gul, and noone knows if full DG has a set bonus

So stop assuming that it won't because using your unsupported guesses to make fun of me just sounds really stupid

And did I ever say to wear full DG? No, I just said you need DG. You could simply wear the DG and keep the EDL gloves on and keep EDL set bonus OR maybe the DG will have its own aura.

The thing is- NO ONE KNOWS!!!

And even if it doesn't have its own aura, it is simply a full DPS armour if you wear it as a full set.

You ought to listen to yourself.

I've no idea why people think a squishy dps mele set will help with gelebron. Maybe I'm missing something with some kind of set bonus or some special ability it bestows in the battle. But just looking at the basics it's clear you likely won't want it for the fight.

I can see great uses for it in lower raid bosses and lock battles, but I think it's just wishful thinking.

Adding doch Gul makes no difference to survivability...

It's not so much that we expect full sets to simply drop from Prot, or that he would stay the primary source of pureness confluxes. But I had hoped, like most people probably do, that he would drop Pureness at a reasonable rate at least, to have a little more dps for the currently unkillable Gele.

Gele has yet to be tweaked, so the change just doesn't make sense to me. Had they done it after he was, then it may have made it a less bitter pill to swallow.
