I disagree, the more strategy required the more immersive the boss is
Oh my bad, good point spamming restos, and rainbow lixing to stay alive is a lot of strategy, idk what i could have done without your knowledge of strategy thank u
Thta's defenitively a problem. Lix idols and pots became normal at boss, wich shouldnt. But at some point, if you rememeber SV times, everyone had the same build, There was no diviersity at all and boss fight where only timing question.
What we need are boss mechanics and phases, to make the fights more immersive and still have the challenge of avoiding aoe mechanics
Definitively!! At least on endgame ones ( starting from aggra), it would give more fun and allow players to push more "real" strategy.
I love the direction OTM has gone with the big bosses. The game actually requires you to put some thought into grouping and builds/wards. With that said, I do agree that close range DPS took a hit with these new bosses. Rangers seem to be the clear-cut top DPS now. I can see how rogues would see this as frustrating, but having every boss be a simple "tank and spank" would really cheapen things for me.
Haha yeah, rogue true motto should be : "fight! idol! hit! idol! kill! idol!" :D

Its not the AoEs that are the issue, its how strong they have become and how frequent they became. It is in such a point where the single target attacks are not really noticed.
Also, back then an AoE wasnt always a radius AoE, but it had a front line range (dragon fire) or target-based radius (smolach), but now there are so many AoEs its annoying.

What I hate is attack speed slowing skills like Rotor Blades, the fact that they can slow ur attack speed on haste is practically draining ur elixirs for nothing. I need to run so much from proteus its horrible, and can get caught by his freeze.

AoEs are a must in every mmorpg, but they shouldnt be so frequent like they are here.

Those aoe damages are defenitely rogue killers. And force to balance the classes, now we need more Druids, more range dps Rangers mages dos Druids, and less rogues because half the battle we are running away and using sigils.

Put a red circle on the ground before the AoE is cast, so we can see where it's going to hit and how to avoid it. Similarly, for directional AoE, put a red shape on the ground telling us where it's going.
+1 on this!! Either low range dps wont have to waste time runing too far, and casters will be able to avoid it!!
...and with the current engine it seems more than possible!!!
Big +1

Sorry for quoting myself, lol honest mistake

And i see no issue with needing a dedicated druid for every group, or timing aoes to run, or running a slightly higher hp build for some bosses

Easy to say when you have a great Druid in your clan like yours who can log her 3 lvl 225 well geared Druids.
But to some clans, we often got enough Druids for the tank only, like ours, most of our high level Druids are inactive now or quit the game, and it's not easy to level a Druid from 1-220 and be ready for the next raid.

It makes me shudder to think of the days when Druids were unneeded because any boss could be killed with 0-1 Druids..

AoE's have given the class far more necessity than before, and incentive for people to level and continue playing Druids as their primary characters. The requirement of a Druid in most groups is wonderful! Instead of having a singular role in bosses (stand back and heal the tank), we are placed in DPS groups as well and are able to engage in different aspects of the encounter.

Many hard-hitting AoE's only enhance the game, most presenting a window to escape in (Necro's Life Steal, Stonelord's Earthquake for examples) or gear requirements to negate it (chaos AoE and Fingal's Bane), while others remove small-moderate chunks of health from the nearby DPS. I personally really enjoy those accents, as they add vitality to the encounter. Druids should be a vital part of encounters, and many existing AoE skills are well-balanced to suit the AoE heals of Druids of that level range. I agree, some are far too powerful (Big Freeze for one), however generally 4-7 Druids are enough to heal a tank and DPS, severely mitigating the AoE's of endgame/EDL bosses.

If your complaints regard a lack of Druids moreso than an overpowerment of AoE's, then lessening AoE's only presents a myopic solution. Need more Druids? Don't make them unneeded.. Instead help them level, encourage others to play the class, and make a Druid alt to help your clan. Don't be lazy! Be a Druid!

Best suggestion ever!

It's so hard to keep track of the aoes right now, since it's only in the CHAT BOX. Verg easy to miss since the skill hits/misses are also listed there, not to mention shouted warnings and other messages for raid coordination.
