necro takes no poison damage which affects rogues alot worse than rangers
Maybe so, but shadowstrike has a poor hit rate anyway. Rogues that use poison weapon may be affected more, not every rogue use it though, and besides some lux offhands and mordy poison spears there are no other poison weapons and our rogues don't use them on Necro. Reaper rings useless for both rangers and rogues. Rogues also switch their bloodthorn sets to another, so you can't really generalized that rogues are gimped vs. Necro.

While we are on the topic of dps on necro, as a mage I would like to point out that the massive elemental resists make me fairly useless. 1520 lure (which takes specialized lure gear, but still room for improvement) allows me to hit between 14.3-14.5% of my max dmg on average. So you could have it worse :)

Why don't yall do a simple test. Get a rogue and a ranger. Pick one that has the same skain set or lux ammy and similar rings and ammy (to make it easy both use 4 Valor rings 3 if skain sets). Both use dl or edl main and offhand and both are in dl or edl aura.

Pick a boss like swamplord or all seeing or stone lord and have the tank tank it. See who gets kill when the gear is exactly the same.

Swamplord isn't an endgame boss. Way less armor, elemental resist, and def make that test useless
Why does it make it useless? Unless I've misread the question has become which one is better dps. I suppose you could put a rogue and a ranger in the same group for mord. I'm just presenting bosses that offer a medium where there is the least disruption of straight dps.

No boss would be fair, one might have low poison resist (mordy, which can give an advantage to rogues with poison wep and life steal, less about shadowstrike), and some boss might have very low pierce resist (swampy for example), as in this case ranger has much more of it.

Equally geared? We dont need 'equally geared' if they're on the same tier, they can play with their gear as much as they want, the one who gets better results is eventually the one whos better.

Its a pointless argument tho and doesnt regard the topic, as the topic is about rangers lacking skills and that is 100% correct, and yet Id suggest to improve it by giving rangers VALID skills (not make sharpshot str and keep it non-instant), but also boost the other classes.

Because resists and defense play a role in who will be more effective lol. On a boss with 10k def, 10k attack lets you hit 50% and 2k attack lets you hit 16.7%. Clearly there's a massive difference between those two values. But if swamplord only has 1k def, the 10k attack toon hits 90.9% and the 2k attack hits 66.7%. Definitely closes the gap a ton. Same type of logic holds true for dmg types (elemental, physical, divine) and skill dmg

this is a test on who dishes out the most damage, not per each boss as everyone varies, for the most accurate test you would want 0 of all resists
