I agree and disagree with the OP and totally agree with crims first post. Aoe's are essential, makes the game more fun and makes u think about the strategies but 2k or 3k aoe is so stupid, aoe skills should hit a lotttt less than single target skills in any game and that's just a fact. And no otm shouldn't nerf boss aoes just cuz a clan dun have enough Druids to fit in every group, if ur clan doesn't have enough Druids in then how's that's otms fault? But that could start another topic of why most people don't wanna play Druids cuz they are horrible to level an so under powered it's daft. Aoes should defiantly get nerfed but not taken out!

There as annoying as spell checker on iOS as I was writing this post :( :(

I hope your use of "there" was meant to be sarcastic while using a spell checker... Then again, it's not misspelled just misused.

AoEs in a game are fine,mahe issue I think lies with how often they're hitting and how hard. An AoE shouldn't be doing more damage than a singular spell due to the force of the spell being disbursed amongst a variety of people. Maybe an AoE should have the damage scaled down based off of how many people are absorbing the hit.

Example: AoE does 10k damage on one person targeted.
Damage scales down to 8500 damage when 5 people being hit.

Damage has a minimum hit of say 2k on a group of say 14 people or more.

Lemme see. I think you guys OVERREACTED a bit. Let's begin thinking. I typed 9 skills, which obviously no one may ever max at the same time. It is also obvious that no one will max all 6 wards against a raid boss that attacks with fire and pierce (this is an example).

As for the 'hardships' of levelling a druid, IF we all start caring less about efficiency per lix and accept a druid as a lvling partner, we may help our clan and server in the long term. Waste of plat helping level a druid? It is a waste of plat going to raids without druids too! Small investment earlier for a BIG profit later ;)

I wouldnt start with the assumption that we dont help lvling our druids, that will be a wrong basis to ur claim in the first place. I personally lvled my way to 220 with 2 druids almost always grouped with me. No one is angry, there is no tone in our comments.

The root of the problems ofcourse lies in a much deeper place than AoEs being strong, but as we all know, to make OTM fix a problem from it's root is nearly to impossible task.

You are right, I overreacted too.

Btw, I'd like to have another lvling place that doesn't need a quest/lvl requirement as tower does. I screwed up after hitting 180: continued to level up and forgot I was going to plvl my clannies at wyrms/180 pit :/ My aim was plvling the main druids and then other main toons. Oh well, but that is a discussion for another day I guess.

to be honest, I think that AOE bosses make the game more exciting... if they added in circles showing where the AoE would hit. Right now, I'm playing another MMO, and it shows where the AoE is going. That gives me a chance to run, readjust and start DPS again. not knowing if I'm going to be hit (Celtic Heroes), I just stand there and take it. Knowing if I'm going to be hit (other MMO) I run away yelling "oh crap oh crap" until I'm out of range. It makes the game more strategy driven, and more fun imo.

I like the idea of Biteys suggestion but I think that applies in this game to a lesser extent already but I could be wrong, doesn't it say in the chat box what skill is going to be used by a boss? So part of the strategy could be to remember what skill is what, just like the bosses aoe lifesteal when everyone runs from that. A circle placed on the ground is much better but I would still like the damage from aoes to be lessened.
