Frequent crashing

#1
I crash very often at least every 20 minutes due to chat if I'm lvling and chatting at the same time or if I'm in the castle there r very few ppl I go and type something the typingits self lags so bad I crash. I wonder in anyone else has this problem? Some times I crash every 5 minutes and I've tried everything from restarting my iPad and phone to deleting the app entirely and still I have this issue. Now my phone granted is a 4s and is a bit touchy but my iPad mini2 is brand new and shouldn't have this problem and yet I do.

iPads really struggle with this game. I have an iPad as well and it only lasts about 20 minutes also. They just seem to be very slow with this game. I can hardly ever type messages on it because it is too slow and it is all too much and crashes by the end of the message. So it's really nothing otm can fix you may just need to switch devices sorry to say.

I'm also on iPhone 4s and was having the exact same issue, there's a topic flying around somewhere on this forums that gives u stepps on how to make it a little better. I followed it and never crashed again, the lag was still there but not as much. I'm sure muldar will give u a link when he reads this or u can google celtic heroes, lag, crash, fix or somet like that. I also did a complete reset of my phone settings>general>reset>erase content and setting and then set up my device as a new phone instead of restoring from a backup, your contacts, notes and Safari bookmarks should be saved to icloud so if u don't mind losing your apps and texts then u could try this, this also helped it a little for me and the chat box is just fine now. This worked for me, might not work for you!

What works on my old iphone 4s is too turn off the general chats and run the game on the lowest graphics, draw and detail distance very low etc. But I found out the biggest lag comes from all the notifications of your skills, what skills the boss casts etc.

Hope this helped!

I got a free iPad mini 1 from a friend, so of course I play ch in it. However I noticed it's really good lag wise and chat is very snappy for about 20 mins, then it slows dramatically to the point to where I know exactly when it will crash. I have taken the fix-it steps mullah recommended, however it still does this. Just sometimes you need a newer device. After I go to/get out of boot camp and get put on base, I will buy a new iPad and the problem will then be fixed.

What is interesting to me is the ipad2 is actually much worse for crashing than the iPhone 4s. Even though the iPad2 runs at 1ghz (iPhone 4s underclocks at 800Mhz) and even though it has a dual A9 (A5 in 4s). They both have 512MB ram. I own 5 iPhone 4s and one iPad 2.

Yes the ram is an issue, but all devices suffer from decreased performance over time including iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6s+. Even those models crash more and run noticably slower if you don't clear out the memory every 30min to day or so. Other equivelant games, such as popular mmo I will not name here, do not have this issue. It's obviously a bug but has not been fixed. Unfortunately if you don't jailbreak there is no way to clear the memory I know of without a cumbersome reset.

One thing I have noticed is the crashing often takes place right after the chat window is opened or a trade is initated/completed but waiting an additional few seconds before typing or placing items (basically after any action) reduces the chance of a crash. Getting frustrated and clicking as fast as you can greatly increases the chance.

Remember to first close CH from the background by double tapping your home button and swiping off (holding down the app at the bottom of your screen and pushing 'x' on iOS6) before resetting by holding the top button down for 5 seconds and swiping off for best results. For even better results close all background apps and only start CH.

hi all,
I use an old iphone too and have the same problems with lag.
What I found to help is using a pc application called ITools, when my iphone is connected to pc I can run an "Optimize" option that seems to clear garbage memory. It is not as good as restarting the phone but works even while CH the active App.
I would like to note that i have not jailbreaked my phone.

My theory was the software, iOS is still a base level of software but they still have to be custom for each device.

We tried to replicate the reduced performance over time on devices but could never get it to work, I myself was using a iPhone 6+ for Beta Testing and that was for several hours.

I was wondering if it was maybe an issue of your multiple devices on one connection? But even then that is just a "I wonder" idea.

We did do some changes in the Winter release to hopefully improve performance a small amount, chat box for one. By reducing the amount of lines drawn / some code changes.

It is always best to only play the game with it running by itself, close all background apps and Muldar personal recommendation Remove the Facebook App reading into some of the problems that app causes for devices is mind blowing.

Well I have a high bandwidth connection and a newer wireless router capable of supporting many devices. If it was a matter of Internet bandwidth then resetting my devices shouldn't matter, but it makes a dramatic difference on old devices like iPhone 4,4s where the frame rate triples, map loading times are half and the chat window opens in half the time if I haven't done it in a few days. Map loading times reduce 30-50%+ even on iPhone 6s+.

I would suggest replicating the problem by running several types of older devices for extended times, such as 12-18 hours+ (Remove the 10 min logout timer to make it easier). It can be very difficult to replicate bugs, sometimes I think they get scared of being fixed and hide when people look for them.

I'm not sure if this is an issue on android but definitely is on iOS.
