1200 boost to fb from armor alone. At least 315 from a majestic+ mord brace. 2 royal fb rings get you 540 more. Whereas firestorm only gets the 650 from the occult legs. Is firestorm 1400 more damage than fb in your skill page? Probably closer to 1100. My fb is 4710 and firestorm is 5805

I get 725 from hrung helm.

I have godly brace, godly/imp ring and storm still hits higher...

Higher by how much? Like 100? btw you're using the wrong helm lol

My storm hits can hit around 400-500 higher, even with all the godly gear. Next event the misc item from the boss gives fire storm damage so that will further increase it.

Hes prob using ice shards helm.

Seeing as ice shards is better dps than firestorm and makes u more versatile (what do pure fire mages do at 210/205 edl? ) why would you not use it?

Because shards is less dps than Fire attut+Fire lure+Fire storm.

My assumption is higher levels use it when there are 'spare' skill points not being used..spare being the keyword there

Technically, Ice Shards dealing extremely high dmg (u can use occult gloves, thats what Id do personally) at faster casting time and faster cooldown than Firestorm means it is a better dps skill, even with fire attune. Moreover, I doubt u dont have maxed Ice Lure at end-game bosses, so that would be invalid.
