Re: Damage vs. Armor/Resist Curves

It would be great if OTM just gave us a Beastiary or Mob Log so we could keep track of the basic stats of the mobs we have encountered, that way we can see their Attack, Defence, Resists and etc. all in one handy screen, making it a bit easier to figure out what we can and can't do to them.
Beastiary would be great, would make boss fights more tactical rather than hack and slash and hope for the best. Even if they made it so that as you progress through killing the boss you unlock more info about it or have to kill it X amount of times to unlock the info.

Exactly. I know quite a few rangers/rogues who still use Reaper Ring even with heroic haste lix (and heroic attack lix) on—they believe that the +15% attack boost still outweighs most/all alternatives. Without solving damage vs. resist first, and then running a bunch of tests on bosses, it's impossible to prove or disprove that.

Reaper ring is 5m on my world, and I dual box ranger/rogue so for me this is a 10 million gold question…
The attack speed boost on the reaper ring is pretty irrelevant when it comes to endgame bosses, the 15% attack boost and poison dmg clickie (depending on the rest of your gear) on the other hand are not and are roughly equal to a royal dagger/bow ability ring(80 Str 80 vit 800 dagger/bow ability) while on heroic attack elixir. Those items are rare as it is and you can use multiple, so until you have 4 of those(depending on the rest of your gear) the reaper ring is one of the best items in the game for bossing.

For me I have 8.2k base attack and the reaper ring is 1.1k of that, it's quite a large boost to attack for 1 slot.

Exactly :)

I suggested a Pokédex style system somewhere once...Haha

Gotta kill 'em all!

Anyway back on topic, Swan and Mamba have been giving us some great info to know what's actually going on when our attacks miss or do less damage than we think they should. Keep up the great work guys
Would you kindly?
