Rabbit versus dog (for tanks)

#1
I have been getting some heat about having a level 6 rabbit as a tank because it adds focus and not 180 vitality like the dog so I am being called a noob for using the rabbit. I see the rabbit for tanking very useful because it can heal 1200 and regenerate energy 150+ for 15 seconds when maxed and it has a 16 second recast time that doesn't affect potions and such so that's really a potential 2200 heal.

The dog however does damage and decreases defense... Now why would I tank need to do those things when rouges could potentially use smoke bomb... Yes 180 vit is good but 180 vit is around 1000 hp. If you think about it with the rabbit being able to heal multiple times that kinda defeats the whole purpose of having an extra 180 vitality and really makes up for the lost vitality during the boss.

What is everyone's else's thoughts on this?

I havent decided but another way u could look at that, every time u were healed to ur max hp with extra 1k hp its as if u have earned 1000 heal. But the rabbit could ease on druid (although dog adds more dps without sacrificing tanking abilities).

I see dogs so common on epona so I thought there would be many people casting canine bite on the boss anyways so what's the point.

180 vit is a drop in the bucket for tanks so I didn't buy the dog. And plenty rogues/Rangers already have it so it's really just useful when soloing. I would've bought a rabbit given the choice of stats and skill, I just don't like a bunny pet. So I'll just wait for a better one.

I meant its an instant skill dealing extra dmg, but overall in matters of tanking Id choose the rabbit. In matter of convenience as a tank due lack of dps the dog comes in handy.

Just as tanks require 2 sets of gear (yes tanks do have dps gear to at least be able to kill SOMETHING), tanks also need both pets.

Im not a tank on my main but I advised our 3 main tanks which gear to use for dps. Im fine with that, they sacrifice a lot having their main toons as tanks.
