Taunt

#1
This is an opinionated post. The skill taunt is incredibly underpowered. Taunt either needs to be buffed or other classes aggro needs to be nerfed, I am constantly losing aggro on bosses near the level of some dps attacking it(Such as 185, 205, etc) and When that's not the case Taunt gets ignored by the boss 9/10 times. I am not even kidding. As an end game tank my only job is to keep aggro of a boss and the adds and when I can't even do that it is very frustrating and makes me question why I play warrior in the first place! Taunt does no damage and does not affect your locking chances at all. I do not understand why it can't pull an insane amount of aggro and make it easier for tanks to do their job.

Didn't know this was a problem, main tank here doesn't lose aggro much.

Try spamming it first up and using it occasionally after.
I spam the skill 24/7. Have for a year. Constantly ignored and if not I have to spam restos aswell just to keep aggro.
I can't see it hurting anything to Just make it never miss, or make the aggro pull higher

If you are a level 220+ tank and you are tanking Sreng or Snorri or any other underleveled boss, anyone near that boss's level will always aggro the boss as a high level is severely penalized when taunting lower level bosses. Bring an appropriate level tank.

Im not sure if this is by design or a bug, or a by product of target lock penalties but thats how it is.

At 232, Im already having issues keeping Hrungnir aggro if someone brings a level 185 toon to the raid. No issues if everyone else is 200+

I'm not talking about hrungir. I lose aggro on 185, 195 no matter what to Armo for example (219 Mage) and any Mage who's around level 200. I understand why this happends I do not understand why it's allowed to happen. You can not expect everyone to be the same level at 185, 195 or Hrung. Taunt should (In my opinion) Pull more aggro so higher tanks can keep aggro easier, Also It again misses all the time which doesn't help. I've had it miss 8-9 times in a row on some bosses and by the time the 10th one hits you lose so much aggro it takes more to get back. All while your dps group is dying over and over

Yes ive experience the 8-9 ignores in a row. When that happens i swap to a mordris bracer to compensate for lost aggro . Usually i do it after 3 ignores in a row. When Blue and Raved and Mortalcreed with full DG and void weapons are hitting a boss, cant afford to miss more than 3.

But as Ive said, if you are 30-40 levels over bosses, you cant hold aggro on lower level toons.

I'll try hotbar swapping to mord brace when I lose aggro. Ultimately still, shouldn't have to. I'd like to see skill balenced for fights with lower players or the high aggro pull of some classes and maybe higher it's hit chance or even make it so that it never misses. Frustrating when I lose aggro, someone dies and I can't help it.

I've experienced taunt issues before but it's pretty easy to fix them, you shouldn't need to but using warcry with 20-25 points in it can help a lot.

Taunt relies on melee combat for accuracy so items with that can help you land more taunts, your vitality and skill point level is the power of your taunt(melee combat boosts this alittle too) so 50/50 taunt and high vitality/melee combat determines how strong your taunt is.
on chaos bosses use the DL/EDL shield skill that damages the boss everytime it hits you. This is great for keeping aggro, use this at the start of boss fights to hold aggro off of DPS, continue using it everytime it's ready to help maintain aggro throughout the fight.
If you still have trouble then lastly would be your mainhand, a lot of the time I don't auto the boss but on bosses you have aggro problems with try autoing, if that alone doesn't work use the DL/EDL sword for the procs they will help you hold aggro.

Combining slight damage with taunt/warcry can be the difference between over powered characters pulling aggro off a tank and the tank holding it.

You mentioned armo pulls aggro off you on 195 that's because armo is an op fire Mage and 195 is weak to fire, sometimes you won't be able to help over powered dps toons pulling aggro but it's not likely to happen often if you do all the things I stated above, switching to a taunt brace if you have one is a quick fix but I don't have one so everything I mentioned above was what I did to fix my problems and they helped volumes
