Re: Purple token drop penalty

Purple Tokens will still drop after receiving a pet.

It is a flat drop rate with no checks as to whether the player has bought a pet.
You mentioned there is not check as to the player had bought a pet - this makes me wonder if there is any sort of check; to inventory, level, gold amount, specific gear, clan status, anything... The reason I ask is today is 06/21/16, event started on 05/03/16 - that is 8 weeks. I've done 6 bounties per day, 7 days a week, for 8 weeks - that is 336 bounties on one toon. Say I received one purple today; that calculates to a 0.2% drop rate (1/336). Is that percentage in the range of the programmed flat drop rate?

This post is in no way intended to be a witch hunt, stir crap up, or to get folks ticked off about the purple tokens again. I understand the random nature of statistics, and I am honestly beginning to wonder if I am doing something to prevent myself from getting purples. If you say there is no checks at all, and the drop rate is supposed to be around 0.2% +/- 0.1%, I will accept the fact that it is simply a fluke. On the other hand, if I am doing something to prevent my toon from getting these, I'd like to know so I can correct it.

Thanks for your time.

The Tokens from the Bounty Vendor are not broken, there are certain rarer Tokens by design which allows us to control how many items come into the game.

The system has only been in since the start of the Spring Event. We are constantly reading player feedback, checking stats and seeing how well the system is performing, which means that if we find things that can be improved on they can be tweaked and changed in future updates.
Additionally, I was not implying the system was broken, and I do understand you have a team of folks running reports/checking statistics/etc... My previous post was more to ask if there was something on the player's side that would limit, or prevent, them from receiving them. Heck, I'd be willing to drop an old coven hat from my inventory, if that's what it would take.

Thanks again.

Nothing you are doing will prevent you from getting a token.

It is simply set to a drop table and as Dexxa mentioned is the rarest token.

Things could've been much better if it was: 50% orange token drop rate for regular bounties, 50% green token drop rate for seasonal, and 50% purple token drop rate for elites. Regular bounties should take up 60% of the majority of bounties, season should take up 25%, and elite should be 15%. It sounds completely fair.

The problem for a player like me is I don't even like doing bounties and only did them as a means to get the purple and green tokens to get the merc gloves upgraded. On two toons doing all bounties every day, it took until 3 days ago to get 2 purple tokens. If I were still doing them for that purpose and hadnt gotten the purple tokens by now, I would have just quit doing them. And in retrospect, I don't really feel the time I spent doing the bounties was worth the drops

I'm pretty sure the game is able to peer deep into your soul, determine if you really deserve a purple token, then troll you with something else.
