Good Afternoon folks!
I'm looking to get involved in the game as my brain now hurts from lurking the forums.. It's time to get started!
I do have some questions to get the ball rolling... and before you say read the forums or post elsewhere, I am going to say, "no... please?"
1. Which server is the most active and noob friendly? Fingal seems to be where I am routed to when signing up, is this where I belong? Is it it sign?
2. I am torn on the classes. Warrior? Rogue? Ranger? Mage?
I like warriors, although I've read a 2h war is slow and clunky. If not going 2h axe, I would go 1h sword and shield, but then none of the famous rupture....
I've always been a rogue/ranger, but with the game's dynamics (speed of attacks), I feel rogues and rangers seem to rely on platinum. I'm sure with farming and items that add speed, etc -- it gets easier, but starting out... they both seem to lack.
Mages seemed to be the easiest to level due to burst damage and distance, but they wear dresses.
Can anyone give me a bit of insight without referring me to class forums that I've scoured over and over again? I am not looking to spend a fortune on platinum. How much do elixers go for in in-game gold? Do they have to be purchased from plat shop/other players or do 'shops' in game sell them?
Thank you all!! Happy Hump Day!
Re: New Player; Server / Class - Android Baby!
#2Try the class section of the forums.
Kidding!
So I play on the server Lirs and can tell you there is a bit of conflict and a few nasty players but providing you keep a good rep here then it's an alright server despite what people say.
If you are just starting out then I'd say your decision to look towards warrior is pretty sensible. Warriors have decent armour and damage so they're a handy class to learn the game with and hey, if you don't like it you can always start another class to give it a whirl. Every class eventually needs plat based items such as elixirs or potions but don't worry I myself never bought the stuff and players sell the items in game!
Prices will vary but I can tell you a few for my server..
Most hero elixirs such as energy/travel/health etc are 1k ea.
There are a few exceptions such as super knowledge 3-4k, haste 2k and super combos 7-8k.
Restoration potions or res pots for short tend to be about 100 ea but can jump to 150 dependent on scarcity.
These are you main items to buy from players really. Alot of other stuff such as the jewelry or offhands tend to be in shops so you can gauge a price from there. NO MATTER WHAT SERVER THERE ARE ALWAYS A FEW PEOPLE THAT TRY TO RIP OTHERS OFF SO PLEASE LEARN PRICES OR ASK AROUND BEFORE BUYING OF OTHERS.
Anything else just reply here or in game via mail.. I tend to play rogue most. No matter where you end up welcome to CH and good luck!

#3Would you say Rogue is a bit more advanced than warrior if you're just starting out? I like speed, but I suppose going 1h sword and shield can't be too far off from a dagger's speed?Anything else just reply here or in game via mail.. I tend to play rogue most. ...and thanks for the info! I guess I'll check it out once they free me from the shackles of the day job!
Re: New Player; Server / Class - Android Baby!
#4Fingal is a good server to start out on. I'd recommend trying to and spending a week interacting with others and doing a bit of leveling to see if you enjoy the server.
Lix are about the same cost on Fingal as lirs.
Warrior is good. I'd recommend double axes or hammer main and axe offhand rather than leveling with a shield. You'll want rupture, double attack, and shatter skills.
Rogue is also nice but you'll want to find riposte and shadow strike.
Mage isn't very sturdy but does a lot of dmg and is fun to play. You'll want to find fire attune and fire storm.
All 3 of those classes level about the same speed and are fun.
Druid and ranger are for those that have more patience. Some players love these classes but they're not as fast to level and can be frustrating (in my opinion). That said, some players absolutely love these two classes.
If you come to Fingal, I can prob help with some skill books. I doubt I have fire storm or shadow strike in my bank though but would have the others.

#8Great. I messaged a few guys I saw in this castle place. Nobody was willing, but finally one guy said he would.
If the message doesn't get to you, I made a warrior... and found an axe trainer... whatever that meant/did...
My name is xCAINx
Thanks again!
