Sooooooo..... OTM, We were told there would be a summer event with bosses that drop similar sets to gara and skain if I remember reading correctly. Is this still a thing? Or like..... Did we just say f*** it and forget all about it?

I don't remember them saying there will be a repeat of Skain/Gara this year. Only that the next event will have different content than before, and some of them will be permanent.

Idk just what my mind Is telling me but that's not the specific point I'm inquiring about here. I just wanna know if we are still going to have a summer event or if it will turn into a rushed 2 week event before Samhain is released. Or are we just forgetting about it?

I don't think they're calling it Summer event or Samhain event any more. Just "next event" as they have no idea when it will be released.

I understand. Just not sure why labels are that important. The next event is the next event. They can call it "The new exciting event that comes after this event" and it will still be the same event. Then the next event after that will take another 4-5 months and they can call it the "First Event of 2017" and it's still gonna be whatever it is.

Perhaps the 2014 spider event was fun only because of how good the drops were. Osan Marach (2015), the Witch Hunters/Ghosts (2013), weren't particularly engaging. Or perhaps because the lux items during Samhain are better than recent ones. I don't particularly consider Samhain as the most fun, there are many factors, I think Summer 2012 is still the best.

But from what I can gather from what Muldar has been saying, I think OTM is going in a different direction after this Ostara event.
New updates are now focused on horizontal and more permanent content, rather than seasonal/temporary quests/bosses. I don't even think we can call the next update as "Summer Event" because I bet most of it will be permanent content.

Next update is planned for the coming month or two, hopefully beta this month (more details soon)

Due to player feedback we are going to be having a larger focus on permanent content and less on temporary event content.

Don't remember saying similar to gara / skain but there has been changes to "event bosses" which will be discussed further in beta.

Well as long as we are still going to get the new Kraken pets and the new slots for the chest mounted rotary laser cannons and jet packs, as Muldar promised, I think it's worth the wait!
