What is Platinum? Is it expensive? Why did u guys spend thousands of dollars on it? Seems pretty erm over the line.

Platinum is the Premium Store currency found in-game.

Used to buy elixirs to speed up game play and chest which have seasonal items.

Platinum is sort of the shortcut to getting gold and levelling to a decent level. It doesn't make you any more experienced though and probably more prone to the scammers so always ask around on your server about prices etc and be careful before getting mugged off.

If you do decide to invest in the stuff (which by the way there is no need to as plenty don't) plan ahead of what you intend to do with it. If you want straight up gold then buy chests and sell them accordingly to your servers price (usually 15-20k). If you wanna make your playing experience much easier but wanna have some fun just open the chests as you'll get a chance at mounts (no guarantee and alot of people don't get one where as others can get up to 3 from one set of 4k plat) and alot of hero lixes and resto pots which are really what makes the levelling grind alot easier.

Yet we are not taking about the public robbery that Gameloft does with their two MMO....that's plain stealing

It's easy to go without plat, I've only spent like $200 total that was 3-2 years ago back when I was on Belenus. If you make really good friends sometimes you'll meet people nice enough to lend you gear. Being in a good clan helps aswell. As for elixirs, xps on average sell for 4-5k on most servers (if not all) so they arnt terribly expensive. Plat does certainly help but it is not necessary

OTM reduced the price on the starting lux but raised the level requirements to 35. OTM does a very good job at not making plat a must need thing. Items like pets or getting mounts from chests may be spendy but it is all optional and it is possible to play without them (it's sucks playing without a mount tho).

Game loft? At one point I was top ranked person on my server with some of the best gear available in-game after only $10

Plat is a must need. You and I both know this. Lixs and gold aren't exactly easy to comeby
