You just need attack, that's all ability gives you. There are some viable caster spear builds under lvl140 using radiant es armor and attack boost items.
Ability when trained adds attack and damage to your hits.
I have a druid and, in the past, have equipped an Aggy spear on it - not very practical (at least, not from what I have found); however, it is fun to play around with it on my Glad, etc. I don't pay too much attention to the damage aspect, but the attack is horrendous. Allowing the option to train the ability would help with that by allowing it to hit once in a while, without the use of Attack Lix. Again, not too practical, but given the opportunity to raise the attack (and subsequent damage), it would be interesting to see the ideas for builds people come up with - like a druid tank.

Thanks for addressing the topic Muldar, as it is something I had been curious about in the past.

Hey Ann!

Zyz mentioned this a week or so back and Muldar said he would look into it.

Not sure if that means removing the ability to let casters equip Aggy spears OR instead making it so they can equip Mord spears as well.

We'll have to wait and see, but I hope it's the latter.
Totally forgot to reply to the last thread.

While we won't be able to make any changes for this update it will be something looked into for future class balancing.

I always liked how any class could use aggy spears, and it can help dps as a caster(though minimally) with double attack(can't miss) while you are waiting for cooldowns. I'd like to see it more viable, but there's something else I had my mind on...

If every class has hand to hand abilty, why can't warriors mages or Druids use knuckle blades? There no reason not to be able to.

Hey muldar I'm curious. How come things like this can't just be implemented without having to wait and wait. Just change it to no class restrictions on the spear and switch the spear ability trainer no class restrictions. Bam done. Nothing game breaking

i remember when otherworld was the best area, we had a mage in epona called infinity, she was playing firemage with haste gloves and full green armor ( forgot the name, the one that added dmg) . she had a build with full firelure firebolt and inci , its was freakin awesome and i really wish we could see things like that coming back.
maybe magesword like they did once but this time with fire & ice abilities.

Full radiant armor and attack items with spear is still a semi viable build to 140 or so. Much past 150 it's a waste. If you have few to no sigils it's better, if you are energy sigil heavy (2k+) then you are better off not attacking at all.

The biggest problem with CH is there is no overall game architect - the one person who essentially decides where CH needs to go. Seems like everything is done by committee and any change takes a lot longer than necessary. Wulver was supposed to be that guy, but he is gone and nobody replaced him. Thus, without concrete direction, this game is simply a mish mash of what has gone on before with no cohesiveness on what the future updates will be.

Class balancing shouldve been addressed first before updating stonevale and the castle. Boss encounters and raid loot shouldve been higher priority than bounties, etc etc.

Hope OTM finds that one person who undertands the current weaknesses in the game and direct the rest of the team to do it before its too late. i can tell one thing for sure, Fishing aint gonna fix whatevers wrong with this game and why so many players are quitting.
