The Christmas sled floated just above the ground, a boat could do the same. Plus it could potentially take fishermen out to deeper waters for higher level fishing holes. The land boat however comes with a cool skill called "50 caliber auto" that turns ember drakes into swiss cheese.

Having shown us this, I now expect nothing less than for this to be implemented in a future update

If you do include boats, i think they should be like bear pets, you can only get from fishing the required pieces.
When unlocked, it should enable us to get to new areas with higher level fish.

After reading this I fully expect to be able to catch left sharks in any new fishing areas.
