New Idea for Ranger Class

Ok so I have been brainstorming ideas to help admin create a better overall Ranger class something that will make us stand apart from other classes. My thoughts are we should be able to cast spells like sharp shot, rapid shot, barbed shot and steady aim while still auto attacking. I mean no loss in attack at all, I dont think we should be able to do it on all skills but our primary skills we should just be able to cast while still engaged in combat. Spells such as light heal, bolo, entangle and spikes would still stop your attack for casting but our attack skills would be casted without interuption. We would still have to wait for cast time and it could still be interupted however you would never loose auto attack while you are casting. I also like the idea that was posted about being able to attack while moving, I think you chances for missed or evaded shots should increase when this is done but that was a solid idea. Just my thoughts let me know what you think. Hope admin will chime in aswell at least let us know if this is even possible in the relm of game design.

i think attacking/casting while moving would be cool - but hard to implement - how do you distinguish breaking off an attack or skill from using it while moving?

Having an instant skill (kinda like sharp shot is now) that doesn't interrupt auto attacks would be a cool enhancement. Perhaps every 40 levels the ranger can choose one skill to act this way - so each ranger will be different.

I would only be cautious that we don't make the class to unbalanced against others.

One though I have been having is about our sharp shot. I see rogues and warriors use their skill shots to do incredible damage - well over 1000, sometimes closer to 2k. It would be nice if, for rangers, dexterity added more to our damage and our sharp shot was significantly higher.

right now str add one to damage. and dex add 1 for every 4 dex points. For rangers, (or any class using ranged weapon), dex should add more dmg. Again, i don't want to overpower the class - as we have rapid fire to do a lot of damage - a steady stream of decent damage instead of a few massive damage hits.

Overall, while some new ability would always be welcome, i am actually quite satisfied with my character. It is a lot of fun to play, is able to solo, and can contribute to groups.

Technically speaking, it is possible. I played a ranger in another free iPod RPG because of that.
Oddly enough, when I got it in the Fall of 2011, I was deciding between trying it and trying Celtic Heroes. It got old fast, and I switched to this :D
