So I'm curious if auction house selling is only obtainable through plat, how long is it going to be a viable way of buying items. I spent 80 plat to list some stuff and realized it's just cheaper to go back to using the buy and sell out of game chat group fingal created.

Auction House listings are free up to 5 slots, additional slots are purchasable via plat.

Alternatively you can go through the rigmarole of mailing items to an alt and listing them via that character.

Chat groups are still an option but are less convenient I have found from personal experience.

Announcement just went up, 20 minutes till servers go down.

My opinion-> Sellers shouldn't be able to cancel an auction if there is a bid on it or give seller 10-30 mins to cancel their auction only after their posting

Can they do that? Haven't seen it happen yet. But I certainly agree. If you don't like the highest bid and your auction's about to end, too bad. You shouldn't be able to take your item back. Not cool. Start your bid price at the lowest you'll accept and be happy if it sells for more.
