Re: Revised Revival chests, @OTM

People wanting the same chests back are not thinking in the long term for OTM.
If the chests are available for three days and everyone spends like 300-400$ in that time, sure OTM would profit.
HOWEVER, after those days absolutely nobody, and I mean nobody, will buy plat for at least a month, and the plats sales after that will be very low due to people waiting spontaneous releases of similar chests.
It's just a small street leading to a highway to the downfall of every server's economy.
Legacy drops should be very rare and available for a longer period of time. Would benefit everyone, except the lazy and selfish.

Making the chest fashion no trade on iOS servers would resolve a lot of issues.
Hell naw, to the naw naw naw. That ruins the whole point of the chests, people want to buy/sell/trade to get some fash or complete sets

You do understand that normal chests are available for over 3 months at a time, which supports my claim and not yours. The fact that these specific chests would be limited time only would completely cripple the income of OTM for the months after, which in my opinion would not be wise. Furthermore the chests can't be added for longer than 3-4 days because the currently rare fash sets would become mundane and irrevelant, which is sad to say the least.
The old revival chests can't stay, they need to change

As it stands, people only buy chests in order to sell them. Then they use the gold to buy back the pet/mount tokens and lix that came from those chests. It would be nice if they did away with the token system and returned to the fash/mount model they had before, but I don't see that happening as they have future plans for pets and mounts to be released....

I've had zero incentive to buy plat since the token system was introduced, unless I need gold for something. I think a big part of the excitement over the revival chests is a return to the fash/mount drops we had for so long, which were then stripped as an option. Nothing in the current chests is a pleasant surprise when you open them, only more of the same items you probably have 100 of rotting in the bank, or are trying to sell at rock bottom prices in the auction house...

Will new players get old fashion? Yes. Will it devalue legacy players investments? Yes. Unless: Otm amends the name/description of the pieces to give some weight to owning an original piece. This is the best compromise I can think of. New players would still have to pay millions for an original fashion piece or mount, and older players would benefit from the flowing of lix the chests would provide.

You really have no clue lol. When events were still a thing, people would buy loads of chests as soon as the event started... then like a week later no one was buying chests because everyone bought them at the start of the event... on belenus atleast we were always having dry spells at about the half way mark of the event and lasted all the way to the start of the next event. It happened with the Rimebound chests as well... so I ask again, what's your point?

The chests were perfectly fine and acted as a jump start for server economies, but I guess some people would rather see things way overpriced as they sit on their mountain of gold.

At this point I see you just like to contradict everything I see without ground to stand on. My point has been explained clearly and with thorough reasoning.
Chests during events and current chests are not the same at all. People literally have no reason to buy new chests after each update. During events, large amounts of chests were bought at the start, low/medium amounts were bought during, and a low amount were bought just before the start of the new event, with the exception of events with horses and good looking fash when chest sales were still higher throughout and people stacked up at the end of events.
Rimebound chests are identical to the previous chests we had, so obviously OTM needs to
Find a solution. Adding a new temporary Italy chests that would obliterate all plat sales after it is definitely not that solution. Looking at a long term objective would definitely be ideal for them.
Please stop just contradicting me for no reason.
