okay hi guys!
I've become reborn and done a similair build to Xell but I have 20 vit because with 20 I still only have 250 health with all my items (I'm level 65).
I put 250 points into focus and i have 70 remaining, just testing it for now. Im wondering how you guys manage your Energy Regen after some fights because I waste so much. Energy shield takes about 400 energy which is about 1/4 of my energy and then ice shards e.e they like take 128 every shot . After about 5+ blue wisp fights (down the paths to the big area in SV) and I can be out of energy. Then it takes like ages to regen it so do you guys just live with that or is there a way you can tackle that problem?

If you are going to spend 20 points on energy regeneration Meditate and Energy Boost just aren't worth spending points on.
Split them between Sacrifice Bandage wounds.

ok iv used my mage and feel its time for a update as of now i have freeze and think i will be using it. if i use cloak and shield, then freeze my target it gives me enough time for both lures and ice shards/firebolt combo before i am even touched. and i like that. but thats just me anyway my stats at lvl 64 as of this second are

str- 5
dex- 5
focus- 170
vit- 165

im using a heroic rejuv and golden bodkin of spirits (dont judge my bodkin lol)

my skills are:

bandage wounds- 12/20 (after using energy shield i can heal. has saved me a good many times)
fire bolt- 11/20
energy shield- 5/20 (may upgrade more later on but it is proving useful the way it is already)
cloak of fire- 20/20 (with lure i have seem multiple 100s )
lure of fire- 5/20
lure of ice- 5/20
ice shards- 11/20
freeze- 2/20 (upgrading now. only put one point in it so i could use on a friends alt to text effectiveness)

any tips are still appreciated. i would also like to hear thoughts on this build. thanks for all the help

Very interesting build, your going to have to tell us what you think heh.

My mage is pure focus so about 370 right now. I have only 10 vit so only 63 health heh.

For my build it rely's heavily on mana regen skills OR 180 sigils make the time between fights negligible.

I keep energy shield up constantly, it is 17/20 right now.

20/20 Firebolt, 20/20 incinerate, 10/20 fireshield, 10/20 Fire Lure

Works great, if shield goes down I'm a gonner.

I can solo 2 star lvl 80 eyes and I'm 72

with the build i am trying i can solo lvl 80 eyes but only the 1 star and still have around half maybe more hp (have not tried the 2 star yet.) sometimes i when grouped up on, i find that energy shield saves me xD like i said, i can use bandage wounds with the shield up and my hp regen also helps. also as i have said before, i have found my use for the freeze spell tho i need to upgrade it more. lures do not do damage so they do not break the freeze spell, giving me the time needed to lay down fire and ice lures, then ice shards and firebolt immediately after. maybe when/if i can get incinerate in the future that may come into play with the freeze as well. only time will tell xD

I wish mages were dominating the scene heh. No, there are as few mages as ever, we are just more talkative on the class forums.

hmm the new skills seem kinda cool, i believe that obviously gives mages an edge over say, druids??? eithr way i am yet to discover these new skills and compare the different classes. but the new update is definitely exciting
