Re: On mages and energy issues

Well on my server there still aren't any mages above lvl 110, while there are 50+ of the other classes over that. Since the update I have seen warriors go from 80 to 120 soloing easily but mages haven't moved much. I think we are overlooking something if we say it is fair right now. Mage typically isn't this underused as a class. In Diablo 2 the Sorcerous (mage) was the class everyone made first, so how good the class is relativley will be reflected by how many people use it.
Nerfed Mage ~140
Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

Copy this sig! :)

If you max your skills, you pay the price, You will lose 1/6 of yer energy bar if you max yer Nature's Breath to 25/25. Instead... Bring it to 17/25, maybe use a few Crystal Breath rings when you really need a better AoE for StoneLord or Rockalanche, but please don't complain if yer maxing yer skills. That's like complaining yer feet are on fire when yer jumping on coals.
It's not the mid fight energy regen as much as it is the post fight regen getting ready for the next fight wait.

The prob with mages to me is the downtime between fights where u get hit .I can Spam fire ice etc all day long in a boss fight but if I get hit by a tree in a one on one I then have 2-3 mins of down time while mana recovers so I can cast enegyshield mages r great for boss fights And pvp but r bloody awful to level mob resist to fire or ice need adjusted so we can dispatch lesser mobs quicker thus saving some energy shield for next fight

My build I think is about as good as it gets for mages I'm 100 vit 430 focus and most of my hitting skills r about 17-20 I have great regen mainly due to sigals but energy usage in little fights is excessive compared to what I can dish out if I'm not getting hit I use sacrifice aswell to speed up downtime but for me unless I have a training partner I spend my life waiting for bar to refill which is not any fun at all
And to top it off res idols don't give mana which really sux for a mage and Druid Please sort these or I'm not buying anymore

Get a Mage and warrior in arena and make them go toe to toe Mage will win first Fight then warrior will win every fight after simply because of recovery time try it and don't allow any rest time for either class that will show you where the problem is

If people aren't maxing their skills and are still having energy issues I have no issue with them stating their dismay and issues. But I gotta say I see soo many people maxing their skills... Going 20/20 or 25/25 or even 23/25 and crying.
So if u dont need to max your skills, its your choice, why they were made 25 then. I want some skills to be maxed. And believe me I ve spent a lot of cash on this game. Sigils dont resolve a problem with long boss fights if u want to participate actively and not just stand in the corner. I just want this energy issue to be considered. So we can all enjoy the game. ;)

I don't personally feel like you need to buy mdimarco's sigil amount to rock an awesome Mage/Druid, I see friend's of mine with great Mage's really doing great in game and they dont have the energy woes described here. Now..that said, I do still think the energy issues aren't fully satisfactory, small tweaks are always worth it to make a better more fair situation. But we have had a series of energy related patches and I feel we are going in the right direction. Let's see what kinda new regen items go into game and how that effects things.
How are our attacks and defenses supposed to be effective against lvl 130 mobs if they are not maxed? I am fortunate to be leveling with the high lvls in the clan against the lvl 140 4 star mini dragons. My lures assist them greatly. But my attack skills hit for 150 or so damage, while they are hitting 700's. And my fire and ice lures and attacks are close to being maxed, and my Abilities are close to being maxed, I am lvl 124. I mostly just lure and try to stay alive out there with energy shield. I have soooooooooooo many energy sigils and the best the Lux shop has to offer in regen gear. I still run out of energy from time to time.

Energy is still a big issue. Mages are forced to spend a lot of point on engergy regen skills and prove not effective in boss fights. Either you run out of energy or your damage skills are no good.
Yes, and that is the crux of the matter :-( I do only 10 damage on green eyes in OW once my energy runs out  So I am forced to constantly manage my energy with boosts etc, whereas in the old days, I could use the boost on our druids to keep them buffed. No, I feel so useless :-(
