No. I am f2p and I'm just fine. Yes, it may be a small bit harder, but you can farm up gold for lixes, restos, and idols etc just fine without buying plat. Yes, spending 1 grand on plat will make your life easier, maybe will get you some cool items and an endless stock of gears, but totally not necessary. As was already pointed out, EG gears come from EG bosses, not from plat (although one could argue that plat resources are needed for EG raids, you don't need to spend plat to get them).

I say no.
If you can make it through the game without spending a single cent and still get all the same items (albeit in a roundabout fashion and taking slightly more time) then the game is not purely p2w. It is still pay to win in an indirect manner, but not PURELY. Hence it succeeds...
If however, plat items were 'no trade' then the game would most certainly be purely p2w...

(but this still an opinion of a vague definition... just like most discussions)

The individual does not, but the community/server must, It's not only about you. Yes f2p players can do just fine but if the ratio of f2p players and platinum buyers gets out of whack then even the f2p players suffer. Hence pay to win.

He only said it is p2w. P2w is where you pay to get an advantage. Not that you have to pay to be successful.

Think of it this way, two people start the game at the same time one person NEVER uses plat items, the other is constantly on a hc, they both get to 220 and then they join separate clans both of which do the same thing as the player who joined them does, so the clan that doesn't use plat items and the clan that does show up at gele. They have a lock battle. Can you guess who won? The clan using hcs. They paid to get a advantage which is another way of saying they paid to win.
