How do you guys make your gold?

I found a few ways from the forum so heres what i found and my experience of it so far:

1) Bossing - Unless you are high lvl or part of a clan that camps bosses non stop you wont get much luck there. Clans camp the bosses with 6 lvl 200+ toons and basically just take it from you, they wont invite you to their group and decline your request for add aswell.
2) Farming fingals, carrowmore and murky - i farmed 1 hour fingals and walked out with 5k gold made from selling pelts no tome or rings drops at all same goes for murky. Not high enough for carrow so cant comment on that one.
3) Discing - not gonna happen seen to many ppl getting scammed
4) Auction house flipping - Need gold to start to buy things to flip and its still a risk that what you flip might not sell so not rly into flipping
5) Fishing - farming shimmering waters apparently is a decent way of making gold but it got nerfed according to some ppl discussing it on map chat, so is it still viable? Any advisable locations to try out?
6) Cooking - dont rly see how cooking brings in gold sinceppl dont buy cooking related foods so from what ive seen cooking is only effetive for yourself

I want a sure thing, basically knowing that if i put an hour or 2 into farming i will walk away with say 20k after that time period. I dont like rng cross your fingers and hope for a drop to sell kind of farms cause i got 0 luck and swiping credit apples and buying gold is not happening either. I like fishing and cooking even though im not high lvl yet.

As you have already addressed merching (and Lava is sure to add his 2 cents eventually), and fish/cooking (never got into them myself ), I'll just comment upon farming methods and practices:
There are 3 main mechanics to gold farming that overlap in most methods: 1.) gold from kills, 2.) useful drops to sell to other players, 3.) junk drops to sell to shop
The methods of farming have already been listed: Bossing, and grinding (with money bossing being the combination ).

-Generally bossing for items (2) is hard to do solo especially toward the beginning, but later on it is a consistent money-making method if you don't clan-farm.
-Money grinding (1, 3) is most often a side effect from picking a good leveling spot, but many spots are very good for grinding even if you aren't leveling: pirates in fingals (1,3), hawkhursts in murky (1,3, sometimes 2), 4*s in murky (1,2(shadowstrike),3), bats/rats/bears/scorpions/spiders in fingals/carrow (1,2(rings/tomes),3).
-Money bossing is the combination of the two (and is more fun for the casual farmer ). There are many money bosses in various areas that are of varying levels of difficulty and reward. Most have a large money drop (1), and good tome/ring drops depending upon the boss (2 or 3 depending upon rarity). In ascending order of attainability my favorites are:
Fingal's(bats/rats/bears),
Otherworld (Faraeland bosses),
Carrow (scorpions/spiders/boggan chiefs/firbolg chiefs), (Another carrow link)
I like money bosses because it is less of a time commitment; whenever I'm between things or bored I can run around to these locations and check them (killing place-holders ).

i do the free plat system and get 10 plat, buy an alt book, and sell it for 10k. So far ive made about 300k the alt business is nice

Hadn't thought of that... for that matter I've got an extra retina to sell too.

Not a bad system actually. However, plat offers are notoriously inconsistent depending upon region and internet connection.
