I’d like to presume one of the reasons in the many years of this idea being brought up its never been sersiously put forth into design plans is due to economic fears on servers. If it’s limited you will get complaints then, if it’s not you get complaints.
For example on some servers item C costs 15m, on another item C costs 5m. If I had item C on me and xfered I would bring one more c to the new world. Now typically items follow through for all of its type (ie fash, lixs, etc...).

I get the appeal, but i don’t think that servers should bear the cost of a one or two players needing a fresh start elsewhere...

If your concern is about gold and items there’s always a solution for those little things. And financial game wise, otm would rather to see players active instead of quiting or jumping into other mmo games. This has nothing to do with fresh starts but to keep your customers in the circle.

With the new xp curve you can get 220 in 2 weeks no sweat. About the same time it would take to earn trust and get to know leaders or a clan on a new server to join.
At the very most I wouldn’t mind the ability to xfer gold, but items are too server specific. It is so easy to relevel and get that fresh start you want to get away from a problematic old server

2 weeks from 1-220 isn’t bad. Took me 5 years to do that the first time around lmao.
And I was able to xfer some mil from arawn which helped a lot. Especially cuz blue covens aren’t cheap

The larger point is to find a system that prevents scamming or minimizes the risk but still protects server economies.

It's quite late in the day for this to be implemented, tbh the fact people can't just transfer is probably what keeps most servers alive and others not over populated. Plus all the people who have put in the extra effort and cash transferring would be not best pleased that all the effort and money was for nothing. Personally I like that it takes significant effort to transfer, it creates a community and stops people from jumping servers to pick up the best drops/fash from all of them, maintaining integrity and preventing hard earned drops from leaving the server and being used elsewhere. If it were to be implemented this would all need significant consideration.

It’s never late to inovate for the benefit of their customers and their interest. If otm can develop a Bound Transfer System along with a Limited Transfer System. It will make old and new players to try other servers instead of jumping into another games. Just because of drama or bad leadership whatever reasons.
