Last night on Gwydion we attempted a strategy of OT both roots. We had 46 toons on. Of which 25 were solo logged the rest were dual logging. We had success with this strategy. At 8 minutes we only had the boss dropped 20 percent health, so we decided to redraw some strategy. I do believe if everyone was solo logged and could time attacks around the damage shields from the caustic root (or if we had T8 offhands that gave us the resistance we need and added dps) we would have been fine with the 45 we had on. Our tanks and Druids saw some stress due to the intermittent disruption of casting from the volt root but once again if all of our druids were solo logged i think we would have been able to over come it. Bear in mind our 45 are pretty well geared.

Our players have followed the guides written in the forums for end game toons quite well and due to this our dps output is strong. We normally kill GELE with 30-35. We have been in contact with leaders from other servers and are adjusting strategies based on their feedback as well. We have another strategy that we will be trying on Tuesday.

I do believe that this raid can be done with 40-45 with the right strategy and right gear (might have to wait till T8 for those numbers to work) and once a clan has been killing regularly and clan is geared in new raid gear it can be done with 35-40.

I am known as an optimist so maybe I’m just being optimistic. To quote the movie The Matian

“It does not cooperate. At some point everything is going to go south on you. Everything is going to go south and you’re going to say 'This is it. This is how I end.' Now you can either accept that or you can get to work. That’s all it is. You just begin. You do the math, you solve one problem. Then you solve the next one, and then the next and if you solve enough problems you get to come home.”

I for one will continue to work the problem.

Why would u OT both roots /: you will need more dps that way to out dps healing. Me and my clannies on Herne were speculating last night on some stuff that -in my opinion- if it worked, it HAS to be the right strategy. We still have to test it still, and i really really hope it works because I cannot think of any other possible strategy (other than killing everything) if that doesn’t work.
Anyway, Gl on you raids nevertheless

When we tested heaing it was 50k (per root?) that’s almost equivalent to a gele crystal (or 2 if its 50k healing per root)

Ah we were told the healing was “very little” but never got an exact value prior to testing it. Alls good though, the more tests we try the better acquainted we all are with the boss.

The healing wasn’t the issue. The issue was our physical dps not being able to stop auto attack when the damage shield would go up from the poison root. And the tank and healer not being able to cast through the silence from volt root. Once again I honestly believe that if it were the same 46 toons focuses on one device alone then we would have had better success.

OTM please don’t read this and think the heal needs to be more. The heal is a deterrent, but it is something that can be overcome with proper dps and focus.

If the heal is anymore the raid wouldn't be possible period...
I'm starting to think the heal is a part of the raid and not supposed to be what ruins it. much the same way necro healed or proteus.
