I’m really disappointed not to be buying chests this event. Double plat is hard to resist. However I am boycotting buying plat until the chests are fixed. When I started playing this game in 2017, the chests were the Aeon mystery chests and they were fun and exciting to open and had many mount tokens in them.

Each subsequent chest seems to become progressively worse and the 180 I opened last week had nothing good in them at all. Sick to death of demonheart, oni and stupid useless fash tokens. In that 180 I can honestly say aside from the mount tokens I coulda dropped every single other item and not missed it.

I'm in the same boat. The chests progressively get worse with each release. I dont think it's fair to put all the blame on VR / criticize them for something OTM originally implemented. Theyve definitely been put in a strange position. With that said there have been great suggestions in the past about how to improve the chest that keep getting brought up but it seems they just get overlooked. Hopefully VR will switch it up a bit and change the chests for the better in the future. In my eyes VR is already much faster at correcting mistakes and adding new things into the game than otm ever was. Pretty happy over all with them. Now just a waiting game for better chests

Back in the day instruments we're cool, getting a mount wasn't insanely hard (the most I opened consecutively and didn't receive a mount is over 3000 chests.
I personally don't like getting fashion tokens in one of five chests.

Event chests should consist of:
That events specific fashion, barding, mount, instruments.
Pet and mount tokens
Every elixir
Personally only resto pot, not sure how many use energy pot but they're not really common
Bounty pledges
Idols
Novelty weps(these we're nice to collect)

Then make aeon separate with:
Aeon fash
Old mounts
Tokens
Aeon instruments
Lixes
Potions
Pledges
Idols

I think in the past this was brought up to otm and the response we got was that adding other drops to chests doesn’t necessarily decrease other drop rates. For example, if the drop rate for a dragon egg was .01%, then adding Phoenix eggs to chest won’t make the drop rate change for the dragon eggs, they’ll stay the same. The thing otm didn’t really understand tho is that regardless of the %, the quantity of items available in chests is obviously going to change.

It’s like for example comparing .01% of 100 items available vs .01% of 101 items. The difference might be small but still noticeable

I don’t think you fully grasp then change of the 3rd tier items, (event Tier) The addition of all the Aeon items to this tier isn’t like they added 1 more item to the table. Aeon is a collection of every fashion over the past 8 years of events 3 or 4/year up til the recent last years, that’s 5 items x 9 colors and let’s just say 24 events, that’s like 1080 more items added to the loot table of what should be 45 fashion items plus the pet/mount tokens and eggs, and the established gold / plat items... since the latter wasn’t included in the figures previously I won’t include with this, 1080 vs 45 is cutting the drop rate by about 24, meaning drop rates if say something that had a 10% chance just became a 0.4% chance of dropping. The introduction and continuation of leaving last event and past event items in the 3rd tier has ruined the drop rates on all items

I bought 80 chests this mini event and ended up opening 127 chests in total due to the plat I won. I was in shock seeing Aeon and Demonheart fashion in it. Why are those still in these chests? Aeon shouldve stayed in the Aeon chests and be removed a long time ago, and Demonheart shouldve become Aeon or obtainable by tokens, not a big fan of the fashion.

In the 127 chests Ive gotten some good items, but I dont consider myself extremely lucky. I got 10 combos, 5 heroic xps, around 50 super xps, 1200 restos, 1000 idols, 75 energy and 65 hp sigils, around 80k gold, bunch of hp and energy regen lixs, 40 hastes, 30 attacks, some armour, defense and run lixs, 5 mount and pet tokens and a lot of useless fashion tokens and Aeon fashion, none of those were above the "pink tier" or fashion like Lanrik, Ardmair or Hunter.

This is something I hope VR will look at, because I think Curry is right here.

In my honest opinion, there is too much junk in the current chests and I think it should go back to how it sort of was: heroic lixs, idols, restos, mount and pet tokens, current "event" fashion or tokens when new vendor fashion is introduced, otherwise just remove them for now, dragon/phoenix eggs and the gold and plat prices. Increased chances of getting a third price would of course be appreciated.

Have updated the list now to 600 chests parsed, and for the 3rd tier slots 34 out 600chests have been Aeons, doesn’t seem like a lot (6%), but the fact remains it’s 34 of what could have been or should have been a mount,Pet, dragon, Phoenix, new fashion, or big plat / Gold winner. Ganted as I not done the math of how many actual t3s there was out of 600 chests there was, that 6% will be much larger when I actually calculate it against all and get the % against the actual t3s.

Where have you been lol VR has done a good job so far with taking in feed back and actually listening then making positive changes. The things theyve implemented in the short amount of time so far would have taken muldar and otm 8+ months and even then they'd probably keep us in the dark and put the blame on apple for not approving an update that they put little to no effort into.

Maybe they will read this thread and see how many people are displeased with the current chest situation and update the chest for the better like they have with other things.
