I was very excited that the mars lander was successful today, anyone else think so?

I probably need to watch the news more often. I'm just wondering when they finally discover another race -.-

Awesome! But why is earth still bothering with that?

I think it's really fascinating! I know that lots of people think it's a waste of money, but I imagine that considering the sheer size of the Universe we're bound to come across something eventually that completely changes humanity as a whole. I don't whether that means finding sentient life, mindless bacteria, or just some new material or compound we've never seen before. There's just so many opportunities to learn

Let me know when they find somethinf useful instead of blowing millions of dollars for curiousity(:
