I think it's brilliant that we've gone back to Mars, hopefully this rover will be able to find evidence of water, possibly even life (which admittedly is a long shot, but a man can dream!).

The really nice thing was seeing all the NASA scientists cheering and hugging each other when they realised it had landed safely, meaning all their hard work was for something.

Hopefully this rover will mark the beginning of a new space age, which might eventually lead to someone walking on Mars.

mars, a barren desert with sand and almost nothing else. Maybe bacteria will be found there or possibly water and life. But a dessert doesnt seem like any life exists there. It has no atmosphere and maybe some plants but its nearly impossible for any life to exist in a enviroment without an atmosphere.

That's another thing that could be learned from this expedition. Scientists theorize that Mars once had an atmosphere similar to ours, with oceans on the surface of Mars, and was maybe even capable of supporting life. Scientists think that radiation and solar flares from the Sun might have actually destroyed it's atmosphere, turning it into the barren desert you're describing. If scientists prove that theory, they might be able to find a way to prevent the same thing from happening to us

Luckily we know how to defeat them in case they attack!

I wonder if there are Martians on Mars whether they are more like the ones from Mars Attacks, or like the ones from Futurama?

Or, even worse, maybe they are like the Mysterons....

I think it's great that technology has come so far to be able to land on Mars. However, I don't quite see the logic behind trying to find water on it. Yes, we may find a new life form but if there's not, then it may just be a waste of time. Prove me wrong

Ahhh life on Mars will be interesting. Our clocks will probably look a bit different, as would our calendars. Will we have seasons - is Mars on a tilt? :S
