Caliban said it very well.

Allow me to restate a few things.
1) These critters, and many others, are sought after by most high level players. Most of the time, they are checking for them often, if not camping and watching the spawn points. Quite often at least one clan is getting a team together long before someone stumbles upon the spot and shouts.

2) That "at least one clan" statement in point number one, means that there is competition in killing the guy. Sometimes opening a chat window to explain things is the difference between winning or losing the FFA battle. As Caliban said, it can also mean an entire team dies because someone isn't paying attention to the battle.

3) I cannot speak for all high level players, but know that when I show up in Lir's or the castle, I am completely spammed by friend, trade, and group requests. If someone doesn't make the effort to speak to me, I usually ignore them all. I think it's rude for ppl to assume I want something to do with them, when they haven't even said "hello."

4). What the others said about XP is true. You only get as much XP as the player who gets the kill would get. Usually, with a boss found in Lir's, that means zilch.

I know it sounds harsh... But once you have leveled up a bit, and find yourself being called to these bosses, you will completely understand how they felt. Remembering how you felt, might make you a bit more compassionate though. :)

Good luck to you!

A piece of advice I got from a friend: "DON"T F***ING SHOUT IT OR WE'RE GONNA GET KSED BY HIGH LVLS!"
Well, he didn't say it like that, but that's what he meant. I saw Chillmist spawn and I shouted it. He whispered to me his advice and came to my aid. We got into a group with some other people and still got the kill. The point is, unless you are a high lvl don't shout that a boss has spawned. Thanks for the advice, Bobcat. :D

Forgive me if I'm wrong but don't most high level executives, big business men and women and global company's give huge amounts to charity? Bill gates for example has numerous charities. I wasn't looking for someone to give me gold or items. I was looking for EXPERIENCE. I appreciate they had there reasons but they were never explained, I was just ignored.
This is a game btw lol.

And I'm not going against you in any way because yeah there is some "wrong" with it. But I'm sure every person killing that Dragon was left out of a boss fight at some stage.
Just kill mobs near your level, there's no alternative. Considering if you was in the group you wouldn't have gotten much XP anyway.

Focus on leveling, join a good clan, then you will actually start doing the same to other players. (Trust me it happens to everyone).

You could have just attacked out of the group. The you could have experienced killing a dragon. At your level you literary do 0 damage to the dragon bosses. And if you get a drop from the dragon, they have no way of getting it back for sure. How can they trust a player that is only in their 20s?

Bosses don't give much experience, stick to 1-3 star mobs for training, anything higher most likely isn't worth the trouble for its experience reward, in return, these 4-6 star mobs are only killed for Items and Gold.
Although it isn't just being too low for a group, avoid announcing bosses on shout, because everyone will come running to kill it, regardless of who found it.
Also don't kill anything 10 levels above you, or 1 level below you for training.
I'll say it louder for you.

Just couple little tips.

- When you are a very low level and shout bosses, the first thing that runs through your head is something along the lines of: Dang it, we already knew about the boss and are preparing to kill, now they have jeopardized our drops by letting other clans know. (censored version)
- Also, if you whisper a high level to help you with a boss, that can lead to dissapointment too. The reason for this is because many many people make low level alts and ask high levels for help with a boss so they can get a free drop. I know many don't do this, but the excessive amount that do this have lead to this problem.
- When doing a boss I constantly get spammed with group and friend requests. At least with me, I have just gotten into the habit of rejecting everything because when I let my guard down, either someone refuses to leave group or steals a drop.

I am not trying to be rude in any way, honestly just trying to help, and these are things how I see them.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks.
Enjoy the little things in life...
One day you'll look back and realize they were the big things.

Chris,

Read Caliban, tragedy, and marchen's posts.

But yes, finding a boss is a service and should be rewarded. I am a lvl 120 and I would have invited you if I knew me and a couple people could kill it. If I would have needed a full group to kill it, I would have rejected your group request, said: "sorry we need high levels" then given you some spoils from the battle afterwards.

In the case of a lvl 50 dragon, I would have grouped you, then killed it myself.

Heres the best advice I can give (and this is what I did at your level). When you see a hard monster look in the "area" button to see what high levels are in the area. Whisper one of them saying : " lvl 50 dragon by north penninsula can you help?" then send them a group invite. They will probably accept. Then when they kill it offer them the drop. They will probably let you keep it. Then say thanks a bunch! and offer them a friend request.

Now when you see a boss check your friends list and whisper them next time you see a boss. If no one that helped you before is on, whisper a different high level in the area. This will gain you tons of respect and tons of powerful friends.

Do well my young padawan lol.

Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

So I'm still Farley new to the game and I'm still struggling to level up from 28 but that's not what this post is really about. So I'm strolling around in Arawn searching for some beasties to kill and I come across a dragon. Knowing it would be very much impossible to take on alone I choose to shout out for some assistance. So after a few seconds a large group of players, mostly 100+ arrive. Obviously being the one who found and notified others of the dragon I ask to join the group to attempt to kill the dragon and earn experience. Unfortunately I was ignored by ever player and cast aside. They began to attack the dragon and even though I was the one who found and notified others I was left out of the fight. Id like to know if this is a regular thing that happens in the game or did I just come across the few selfish players?
actually, their selfish. iv been in the game for 2 months or so. im level 68 and i saw a solstice hatchling, about to fight until reinforcments arrive. just as i was buffing my self, a guy called mikester shouted it all out because we wont let him in. i mean, its not actually a big problem. iv been rejected but move on. and in the end its the people who will be calling you to boss fights ;)
Not playing celtic heroes anymore
Even though I quit, nobody is getting anything.
