Maybe not boot the higher level ones, but the higher level ones may decide to look for another clan to join, if not make their own.

Majority of the groups I've been in in the past almost always lost members who got to higher (or even cap) level long before the leader of the group does, and it's very hard to really blame them if the leader can't... well, lead them. I don't know enough about this game to really draw examples, but as someone pointed out in an earlier post, a L120 can't really expect the L80 "leader" to lead him, or answer his questions (hey, where should I go for L130?!?, "What weapon should I use for this L140 Mob?" etc).

One thing to also keep in mind is the playstyle of the group, if such exists. Having a L130 in a clan led by a L80 may simply mean the L130 has a playstyle that is not compatible to the rest of the clan. Heck, maybe he just plays twice as much as the rest! Then there's no point in staying when you're the odd duck.

Um... People need to think for themselves.

Do you care if your Chief is a much lower lvl? Who cares what we all think?

I used to just spout off my opinion, but lately these questions are so "think-for-me-please" that it kinda sickens me.

It depends on your clan...

When I was chieftan of a clan, in addition to the regular politics (which seems to require a lot of talking) involved with leading a clan, we collected warden and upgrade drops. I kept track of which items were needed for what quest, as well as which boss dropped what, how many of each item we had, and who needed which armour next - this soon became overwhelming with a clan of over 100 players, and I was spending all of my in game time (and a large amount of my time out of game) either in my inventory, spreadsheets, or working out issues. I can easily say that there was no leveling happening on any of my characters for over a month.

Luckily the clan came to my aid and we appointed class leaders to assist with class specific drops and concerns.

The point of all this babbling, is that sometimes being the chief means a lot more than just being the most powerful player in the clan. On the other hand, maybe all that other stuff isn't important in your clan, but level is...

So... It just depends on your clan

Here's my thought on this.
I just recently became higher then my cheiften by just 1 level.
I see no point in it being a problem because at my level of 146 it takes 17-18 super exp elixers for me to level.
With that being said we all know that elixers cost platinum to obtain.
This is a free game if you want it to be so I totally understand if someone doesn't want to spend real money or buy in game through gold.
So I am not really effected by a level gap but that's coming from me at a 1 level gap from clan leader.
But I also can understand having a huge level gap could cause some issues from a higher level clansmen wanting a promotion just because of a higher level.
The cheiften keeps track and controls the clan as a functioning group.
I am so thankful for just that fact that I don't have to do any managing.
The only thing I like to help out with is keeping other clan mates informed to rules, where locations are, ect... as all other members in clan should do.
A good well informed functioning clan is a happy clan.
